Why is it so bad for Rodriguez to take ideas from other movies?

It's not...I idolise him, but you're blnding all over the place putting the finger on both of them saying these movies are unoriginal.

HOLLYWOOD IS DEALING WITH SEQUELS, MOVIES BASED ON BOOKS/COMIC-BOOKS/VIDEO GAMES NOW. THERE IS NO ORIGINALITY ANYMORE.
Unless you have two great directors like Quentin tarantino and Robert Rodriguez

You can take ideas from an earlier movie and still be original and creative.

Look at "Slither", "The Matrix" and "Independence Day".
