I don't think the status of a hero could limit a story....it's more about how BURNED OUT a writer is when devising a story arch. Everyone knows the mantra....there are no new stories, just new angles of the stories......see, that's an example of someone burning out.....(just kidding....I liked stories that have alcohol in them)

Parker making a deal with Marvel's closest equivalent with the devil is a black spot on the character -- worst that the marriage.
