Days of Future Past Question about DOFP Premiere in NYC on May 10th

Oh yes, no doubt, Im very thankful. Despite how excruciatingly hard it was.

I told myself to not even judge the movie, but just enjoy that I was experiencing it, and then I will really sit down to watch it on the 23rd! So Im not really gonna say much about the film itself. Just initial thoughts that could change, if anyone cares.

I do feel a little disappointed with DOFP. That could be because I overhyped this film a little bit, and had pictured what battles would take place between the x-men and sentinels. I set myself up for that though.

One thing i do know for sure is Quicksilver is a show stealer for me aswell! His personality is perfect!

Despite any personal misgivings I have with the film though, I'm just happy this farnchise is completely back on track. Its a fantastic movie, and any X-Men film fan will loose their minds! As many did tonight!

Yeah I dont think it matters what film you are watching if your not in comfortable position to actually watch it its going to be hard to enjoy it, hope your next viewing is bit more enjoyable.

As long as you aren't disappointed with the performances of any actors/actresses in the movie or feel the story is too unorganized I think it's going to get good reviews, that's all critics care about. Action is meaningless to them.

Not really....

That sounds horrible. I feel bad for JP. Those types of fans are horrible to deal with. They were quiet during the movie itself though, right?
I spent 10 hours with a group of them... then 2 hours with another group of them. Awful 15-year-old girls who couldn't give a crap about X-Men. They even admitted they didn't care about the movie (I don't think any of them even attended the screening). Just sucks cause that's a good 10 spots that could have gone to legitimate fans.

So sorry TWayneP. Danny and I rushed (even thought we were too tired and in too much pain to rush!) because we just didn't want to be stuck up front. :(

I think I'll be like TWayne in that I'll probably not like the movie on the first viewing. I just know way too much and it's my own damn fault. :(

I've stopped clicking on spoilers the past week+ or so.

I think it was JP that said he usually enjoys Marvel Studios movies more the first viewing as he knows close to nothing about them.

X2, although I followed EVERYTHING about it on the interwebs, I still loved during the first viewing. The crowd really does help!

I did say that. Thank God I avoided spoilers on this film.

I'm so glad I skipped watching the clips. I almost fell out of my chair laughing at that Wolverine/Beast clip because it was the first time I'd seen it. :lmao:

I kinda knew some spoilers about the ending going in, but it came together so well that it still wasn't really spoiled. I had no idea how that all came together, and you really have to see it to appreciate what they did.

I'm still going through my pictures from last night. I got a super-cute one of Marsden. :hrt:

And yet you still loved this one? You spoiled were you in this, going in?
Saw the three trailers. That was it. There were some things that I kinda sorta knew, but I honestly knew almost nothing going in.

Well, Never said that i didn't like the movie :oldrazz:

I loved it, but was just a little disappointed. Wolverine doesn't get ANY action in the future... i wanted to see him go up against the future sentinels. Also I thought Bishop was wasted. *shurg* So the disappointments I had with the film are due to the fact i had set up all of these cool scenes in my head.

With time I will come to love this movie more and more I'm sure of that, I cannot friggin WAIT until the 23rd! Where I can be relaxed and sit much further from the screen and not have every look like they are in a damn fishbowl. IN 3D! NOT FUN lol.

I was just so disgruntled with the fact that i was up there before the movie even started it ruined my mood about it. My girlfriend was irate, she was heartbroken and we really were contemplating about just LEAVING, But i convinced her just to experience it with this crowd we've been with since 4 am lol.

If you loved X2 and STILL love it just as much as you did, then you will love DOFP, especially if you hated X3. The end makes up for any misgivings about the bulk of the film you may have. As I've said, in time this film will just get better and better, without all of the expectation and hype, it can really settle in to the franchise next to X2 and First class perfectly.

Does anyone know about the fight in the past with the sentinels? is it just wolverine and beast who fight the sentinels? or are there other mutants who get in on the fight as well.

No, the critics don't care about action, as long movie is good on story, acting I know that.

Critics care about everything. Sometimes critics give a movie a pass because they enjoyed the action scenes so much.

Anyone have any pictures from the even they'd like to share?

I have a bunch, but I haven't uploaded them yet, except for the James Marsden picture I posted on the other thread. They're not spectacular, but a few are ok. I think the best photo of Jennifer Lawrence I got was of the top of her head. :funny:

Here's the Marsden picture.

If you've seen that awesome group shot of everyone, I have a bunch of photos of the side of that. :oldrazz:

My nephew, who's 6, is really getting into X-Men now. So I told him today: "Guess what? I saw the new X-Men movie last night, and do you know what happened? Wolverine, Magneto, and Professor X came in to say hello!"

He looked at me like :wow: for a few seconds, then just said, "That's WEIRD!!" :funny:

not a bad pic at all! Hahah great to see new X-men fans. Imagine if he was also there :D

Kinda regret not going and waiting outside just to get pics..but I live about 40min from a train then 1 1/2 hour trip to get into NY. Ahhhh >< lol

They were hard to get. The place was a madhouse and they were rushing everyone everywhere. And we were on the opposite end of where most of the interviews were taking place. I was so glad for that group photo when we could finally see everyone on stage.

When we were leaving in that stampede to get to the movie theater, we found James McAvoy still out there meeting with fans. It was so sweet!

The whole cast seems like they're really awesome! More casual than alot of other celebrities. Hmm true about the crowd. On the plus I havent really found any autohraphed posters for sale yet so it seems alotta fans got the chance to get these signed :)

If you guys get the chance do a search on ebay for X-men Days of Future Past. There's a whole lot of actors' pictures on there with hilarious "chicken-scratched" signatures! :awesome:

Terrible. I will never let go of my precious signatures! EVER! My first Class Blu ray with beautiful JLaw and Michael Fassbender Signatures on the slip cover, has now become the crown jewel of my collection! It makes me SO happy!

I only got Lauren Shuler Donners autograph on my Original Trilogy Blu ray set. Its a REAL shame Bryan Singer wasn't able to attend this premiere. Its really upsetting to me because he's the one that made this movie, he should have enjoyed this moment. I would have LOVED to meet him and get his signature on my trilogy Blu ray, but Donner is a great second choice! She was VERY nice!

I also got signatures from some of the supporting cast in DOFP on my t-shirt and poster, BooBoo Stewart, Josh Helman, James Marsden, Fassbender again, one I can't read and don't remember lol, and Peter Dinklage. Sure mostly chicken scratch, but its all about the moment!

unfortunately most of the OT cast members didn't come over to my section, Famke (who was gloriously radiant), Pat Stewart, Shawn Ashmore, Dan Cudmore... Gah, I would have loved to have their signatures aswell! Im extremely happy Cyclops himself came over though, that meant the world to me! Cyke is my fav character next to Wolvie and Iceman.
