Days of Future Past Question about DOFP Premiere in NYC on May 10th

If you guys get the chance do a search on ebay for X-men Days of Future Past. There's a whole lot of actors' pictures on there with hilarious "chicken-scratched" signatures! :awesome:

Oh..I missed those lol.

Shame we cant prove how legit some of those are. The prices arnt bad for some of them

I wouldn't want stuff that other people got signed. If I was there and got it signed by the cast & crew myself it would have a special meaning but otherwise it's just the squiggle of a pen to me. :woot:

My Haul from the premiere!

Autos include Hugh Jackman, Jennifer Lawrence(on FC Blu), Michael Fassbender(on the shirt and FC Blu) James Marsden(YES!), Omar Sy, BooBoo Stewart, Josh Helman, and Lauren Shuler Donner!

That FC Blu is the current crown jewel of my collection haha, I friggin love it!

Amazing haul, TWayneP!!! :wow:

And I give you tons of credit...by the time we got in there I had no patience to even try to make my way through that mob to try to get any autographs. I had fun just seeing them from the top step. Wish I'd brought my real camera though, I hate taking pics with an ipad.

I'm on a bus on my way to work right now and I'm still totally wound up from this whole thing. :woot:

I love that Lauren seems to be getting more involved with even the promoting side of it. It is rare to see a producer on GMA let alone TV. all the producers are actually.

I think that might also be because Bryan Singer needed to bow out. I actually saw Rupert Murdoch at the premiere too.

As awful as the stuff going on with Singer is...I really hope he still directs Apocalypse.

yeah, I feel like this film could be the start of something consistent and it would be a shame to lose it before it even begins

Yea I decided not to bring a real camera either, based on the fact that we already had way too much junk to haul around lol!

Thanks! You could have come down though! I do feel a bit greedy and guilty now looking back. At one point I was looking for you as there was a spot behind me open for you to stand and maybe get something signed. I should have tried harder to get your attention, but there were 2 very heavy set guys on either side of me that kept hovering around that space, along with plenty of people blocking my view to where you were standing, so it was off and on unfortunately. I wasn't sure you could fit! You could have totally gave me something to sign anytime though! I would have tried to put it out there lol.

Honestly It was pretty horrible down by the guardrail really. it was very hot, very... not so good smelling, and very very cramped. Most of my bags were completely trampled on, but thankfully they were just snacks and stuff I didn't care about.

Maybe for The Wolverine 2 or Apocalypse premieres (if they do something like this again) we will get luckier! I will absolutely help you get something signed if I'm in the right position, or you can ask at anytime!

Lauren was very sweet! She was great! I am saddened that Singer couldn't attend despite his legal troubles, but I understand why. He did work hard to make this movie afterall, and I feel like he should be able to enjoy this moment and his fans. Its a shame! Plus Ive always wanted to meet him :)

OMG, don't feel bad about that all! I got to go on stage with Hugh last time, remember. Nothing will ever top that, so I was fine just hanging back this time. And we got the Hugh, Michael and James visit at our screening...so that was worth everything! They were filming that, I wonder when we'll get to see it. And if my "HOLY ****!!!" was audible. :funny:

I knew we had to turn electronics in, and my camera is pretty new...I think I was worried about breaking it or losing the lens.

I wonder if those released clips, specially the Mystiques clips, are in fact edited as a clip or the scene is the same in the movie? Hope are longer, cause they are bad this way...

LOL! Oh my god I wish we would have been in the same crowd SO badly! I bet that theater and screening was better than mine! My crowd was wild as well, but it would have been better with the *slightly* more die hards that had the power to actually walk or run to the theater, while I slowly limped lol!

I was screaming my head off at the "red" carpet extravaganza, but I let out a few good shouts in the actual movie, it was a fun time, even if my view was terrible, the atmosphere was electric!

Same here about the camera, Ours is new too and The cons in bringing it outweighed the pros, but in the end I felt like i should have brought it for more long distance shots of the cast. Oh well! Its more about experiencing it live anyway.

They were absolutely edited in the clip form.

They are MUCH more fleshed out in the movie, I noticed this specifically because I was also worried about it, and was surprised just how much was missing from those dumb clips. The mystique stuff is fantastic!

Our crowd was pretty good. They weren't overly loud, but they were really into it. I think everyone was still a little tired by then (it only took more than 14 hours to get there).

JP's friend was a genius for hailing that cab. And letting me leap into the cab with them (thank you again for that, I owe you a drink or something). Those are some long damn avenues to get to that theater. I didn't even get anything to eat or drink because I just couldn't handle another line!

And not knowing if I'd make my 12:20 bus added to the tension! I made it, but it nearly killed me.

The lines... my god... Story of the night. Waiting in line for another line to get in line for a line into the line out of a line, into the group of people waiting for a line to be formed in order to get into a line. I was dumbfounded by the time I got to the theater and had to wait in approximately 4 more lines. Utter disbelief washed over me in that moment lol.

The more I think about it you guys are so lucky haha, I was reading Danoyse's thing about not getting food or drink and thought, it really would have been so cool to just get in there and sit and watch DOFP. My excitement for this film is going through the roof. I am trying to keep the expectations down but anticipation up.

Is it a bad thing to say? I honestly don't want anyone else to direct... I feel like every naysayer is going to feel the same...

I took a bus from NJ because I figured I'd have plenty of time. But we wound up getting into that theater after 9, the movie started after 9:30...and the last bus was at 12:20!

I texted my dad before the movie that I might miss the bus, because he could come in and get me...but I didn't want to have to make him schlep in that late. They live about 30 minutes from where I live, so it's a longer drive into the city for him. So it's in the back of my head for the entire movie about how I'm going to get home if I miss the bus.

And they took our phones and I didn't have a watch, so I had NO idea what time it was when the movie ended and I couldn't update my dad. And of course we had to stay for the end credits scene, THEN wait on another line to get the electronics back.

It was 11:59 when I was finally able to turn my phone on, and my mom had already texted asking if I needed a ride and I texted back that I might. But then I just wound up running the 6 blocks to the Port Authority (and it was pouring and my poster got all wet), and wound up making it with 5 minutes to spare. I saw at least one other person from the show on my bus too.

I called my folks to let them know I made the bus, and my mom said when I didn't respond again she told my dad, "Oh, she is running!" :funny:

I was SO out of breath (and I'm just getting over a cold!) and I was coughing so hard I almost threw up. Seriously, my knees actually buckled.

Then the driver got cranky because she didn't see my bus pass right away (even though I showed it right to her). At that point, I was like Captain America when they tried to stop him taking the jet in Avengers: "Son, just don't." :cmad:

Still all totally worth it though. :woot:

I know, right? I don't want him to leave again. I have a feeling if the movie's as big a hit as they hope, they'll keep him around.

I was so hot and tired that I didn't even care anymore, I just wanted to sit and watch the movie! It actually wasn't even until late yesterday (my brother-in-law barbecued) that I was even really hungry again.

There were just certain returning elements from X1/2 that I need to stay. And also some new things he brought that I want to continue.

The opening Xavier monologue. The X2 theme music. The cerebro doors. The subtly throughout the film. The color palatte and action. John Ottman as composer/editor, Newton Thomas Sigel as DP, etc.

Bryan Singer will probally be Involved with APocalypse no matter what. He devolped story with his X2/Superman returns writers and Simon Kinberg and should be producing with Lauren Shueller Donner,Kinberg, and Hutch Parker. The question Is will he be directing too or will be forced to be hands-on producer like on First Class. From trailer, clips, and what people are saying it would seem It would hurt Apocalypse to lose him as director.

One person on twitter has said it's like when he does X-Men he puts on his james Cameron hat.

I feel First class would have been even better If he had been able to direct It. Who knows maybe we would have had less of the Is first class a prequel or reboot debate If he had
directed it.

Wow you did amazingly!

lol! Geez. I totally understand that kind of stuff, When I used to live in Pittsburgh, Philly and Boston, all we had were buses, I know that terrible feeling of missing a bus so late at night. I did miss a few buses actually late at night, after the buses stop running. Ive had to pay quite a large triple digit Taxi fare at one time to get home very late after missing a bus. its so not cool lol. Im glad it worked out for you though thankfully!

Another person had a similar problem in my showing, his Bus actually left at around 11:15 or so. He had to ditch the movie before it was over in order to catch it. we all felt pretty bad for him, This was a man dressed as storm

10350411_10152773567804338_5935356138401425629_n.jpg

That man in the middle lol. So this is happening in the very first row of the theater, he was directly behind me, and it is happening while Young Xavier meets Old xavier, a very pivotal quite moment. So I hear "oh **** I gotta go, my bus!" or something to that effect and the other cosplay guys around him moaning and worrying about him. He proceeded to VERY slowly and quietly, climb over the empty chair next to me, but tried respecting everyones experience by being as quite as he could... once he got over the chair he proceeded to not just crouch but crawl around exactly like spider-man to retrieve his bags and things, back and forth very slowly under the screen, as to not interrupt the movie for anyone! Meanwhile I couldn't stop laughing while this was all happening. He knew how silly this moment was and we all embraced it, even though we all missed this pivotal scene. His buddies had some pretty funny comments toward him too lol.

A fully grown man dressed as storm crawling around like Spider-man right in front of your feet... you don't see these kinda things everyday! lol

X-Men is one thing he truly gets. That makes all the difference. I'm not as worried about continuity as many others but I doubt we'd have nearly as many problems on that front if he'd been present throughout.
