The Amazing Spider-Man Raimi Cast vs. Webb Cast

James Franco is a pretty awesome actor, loved his role in Rise of the Planet of the Apes, which I would call RISE if it wasn't for TDKR.

I hope they can get an actor to match him in TASM2.

(Also, does anyone else wish that James did get the role of Pete in the original movie? And that Tobey was Harry? I think Tobey could do the nervous scenes around Norman better)

Also, I love this video:

I can't figure out how you fixed it.

Thanks! Now my posts works! :)

random question
Is the line "With great power comes great responsibility" even in the comics? I can't remember.

It started as a lesson he learned in Amazing fantasy 15, repeated a bagillion times, then it was turned for some reason to a line told by Ben Parker, don't know where and when, maybe influenced by the 90s cartoon

Thank you. I didn't think it was from the comics honestly. Didn't sound comic book-y enough, but I didn't think it was purely from the movie either.

I don't see how omitting a line created for the past movies makes Martin Sheen's Uncle Ben not as good as Cliff Robertson.

Ok... for starters... the line comes DIRECTLY from Amazing Fantasy #15

So YES... it's from the comics... and IT'S IMPORTANT to the Spider-Man mythos... since Day ONE... and it's omission from the movie is pure lack of respect to the source material.

:yay:

It's not omitted from the movie, it's just reworded. The phrase is pretty dated, and the way it's worded in the movie is better and implied that it should cater to all people.

That pic from AF15 gives me goosebumps!

The phrase is pretty dated...

When you make statements like this, similarly to the guy from newsarama, you're going to lose "credibilty"...

This phrase is timeless...

:yay:

PETER PARKER/SPIDER-MAN

GWEN STACY
Bryce Dallas Howard vs. Emma Stone

DR. CONNORS

Andrew Garfield > Tobey Maguire

Emma Stone > Bryce Dallas Howard

Rhys Ifans > Dylan Baker

Rosemary Harris > Sally Field

Cliff Robertson > Martin Sheen

4 points for Webbs cast, 3 points for Raimi.

Why is that something to smile about? It is not pure lack of respect to the source material. It was reworded in the movie, but it has the same meaning.

Joe Manganiello > Chris Zylka
1st.-kinda agree but they are tied for me
2.-Disagree

Webb cast slaughters Raimi's to me. Also, the scene between Peter and Uncle Ben when he gives the speech, without going all "with great powers comes great responsibility" motto gives me goosebumps like Raimi's delivery never did it.

Yes, the line from Amazing Fantasy #15 is important, but it's something that comes from the narrator, not Ben Parker. It's the idea that it's important, and that's why I feel that Sheen's performance is more powerful than Robertson's. It doesn't sound cliche, the idea is there, and that's something that Peter could even say eventually in the future, but the idea of the motto is more important than the motto itself.

The Ultimate stuff doesn't count because it's a bogus photocopied universe...

And that's MY opinion... disagree like the sheep you all are... lol

ummm
So your previous argument is invalid too , it is from the comics AND the spiderman mythos
and your argument was supposed to be an opinion that sounded very objective, imho im not a sheep, you are sheep for not accepting something different :)

The speech given in ASM is clearly more like the USM one, and it maintains the lesson without actually having to say it. Heck, the entire conversation itself was just a lot like that USM panel, with Peter asking about his father after the speech and running away.

Let's hope JJJ isn't pure cheese if he is in the sequel. The man didn't even seem like he was real human being, just a character of a character with a cartoon feel appeal to him. I didn't even believe that he own the Daily Bugle. Sammy can deal the Hammy.

I'm smiling because that picture is awesome and inspiring...

I don't really care about the movie, because it's proven itself over many different topics to be a poor version of what a Spider-Man should be... if people like this kind of drivel... hey... more power to them... just don't expect me to like something that was obviously made for money reasons versus what has made Spider-Man a beloved character over the last century...
