I enjoy RAMBO III quite a bit and I think it's alot better than people give it credit for...there are single scenes in the new one better than the entire RAMBO III movie though.

I saw this movie yesterday. I thought it was excellent . Rambo is essentially everything we expected and a little more . The action and suspense were taken up anotch from the previous sequels . Stallone delivered us the action movie we have been waiting for . I have no complaints about the film maybe the ending could have been a little longer . There is one aspect of rambo it would of been good to see. I think it is great how rambo has another dimension but still remains true to his character . Rambo is a good movie.

Eh...I find Rambo III more epic, albeit cartoonish. But its no more cartoonish than Die Hard or Predator/Commando.

I really didnt find anything in the new Rambo movie thats better than anything in the old movies. I know Stallone went for something more realistic though. THe extra gore doesnt make it better IMO.

Rambo 2 had that really unforgiving drive of destruction feel to it.You couldn't believe the amount of destruction this guy was dishing out,and just when you thought it was over, the guy grabbed a helicopter and killed a nice 200 more troops.

Rambo 3 was really bogged down by the amount of time they spent trying to develop the Afghans, who just ended up being useful in the final scene.Plus Rambo had too many sidekicks in the movie which really took away the "one man army" feeling. The one afghan guy,the annoying kid with a death wish, and old ass Col.Trautmann.There were some phenomenal action scenes here (a tank and a helicopter playing chicken!) but they should have just let the guns and turrets do most of the talking.

He captured perfectly what the world is like nowadays, especially in this territory, and captured genuine emotion about what RAMBO has become and where he has to go from here. I don't find the ridiculously overblown, albeit highly entertaining finale of RAMBO III to be nearly as epic and adrenaline filled as the end battle in Burma.

RAMBO III isn't anymore cartoonish than those, but I think new one blows those away too...and I love McClane as much as the next guy.

This is a raw, gritty survival film with the greatest cinematic bad-ass of all time in the mix that has an intensity and a heart that those over the top fun romps can't come close to.

Regarding the kid in RAMBO III...I'm still pissed at RAMBO for giving away Co's necklace to him.:(

It bugged me the entire time it wasn't on him in the new one.

I thought I was the only one! :waa:

Some of my favourite Rambo moments occur in Part III.

1.) Rambo readying himself for the stick fight (with the monks watching)

2.) The full circle speech by Col. Trautman

3.) Rambo and the Afghans playing "the game" (the sheep and horses)

4.) The night and day rescue scenes (Amazing action sequences!)

Good list. Some other moments I liked (I admit some are cheesy):

1) The round kick that sends the Russian down the cave hole (with grenade)

2) Fixing the shrapnel wound

3) "Who are you?" "Your worst nightmare"

4) The glow stick attached to the arrow

This was surprisingly a fun movie. Loved the scene with Rambo busting out of nowhere with his bow, while all the Mercs gazed in awe.

Fun flick, 7/10:up:

Actually it's been doing pretty well on the weekdays and was #1 last week and it's still in the top 3.

Naturally it's a big time guy movie, so it's not going to fair well on Super Bowl weekend.

It's already at $30 mill, it'll finish well over $40 mill.

You're right, Super Bowl weekend is a terrible weekend to judge a movie's performance. Especially a movie like Rambo.

It's doing pretty damn good for a movie released mid-winter, man. Dont know what some of you are smoking, but this isn't June. Why the hell some of you are expecting everything coming out recently to pull in summer boxoffice, I have no idea.

Rambo was awesome! :o:up:

It was a good comedy.

Yes...it was especially funny when those women were being brutally raped and beaten...that was almost as much a laugh riot as when those kids were getting shot and when people were being forced to run across mine fields as ruthless maniacs placed bets on who'd get blown up...

Your first statement was spot on though.

Comedy as in the wacky hijinks Rambo does.

Yes, I support brutal rape of women and shooting kids. :whatever:

I didn' t think his efforts were that wacky. how is slitting someones throat zany/

Yes, people being blasted to pulp, having their adams apple ripped out, disemboweled, beheaded, blown to pieces in a savagely realistic way...

that RAMBO and his whacky comedic hijinks!:)

Do you seriously argue for the sake of argument?

Strapping a claymore to a missile that never went off isn't wacky?

The movie was so over the top.

I think in the international market this film will do pretty good, u best believe it.

It was a bomb, not a missile. There's a big difference. Luckily Rambo got away before the concussion reached him.

From IMDb.com:-

Bootleg copies of Sylvester Stallone's latest Rambo movie are popping up all over Myanmar (Burma), despite efforts by authorities to prevent the film from being circulated, Reuters reported today (Tuesday). In a report from Yangon, the wire service said that the movie, in which the country's military junta is portrayed as the enemy, is "fast becoming a talking point among a population eager to shake off 45 years of military rule." Reuters indicated that a paraphrased line from the movie, "Live for nothing, die for something," has become a rallying cry within the country and has buoyed the resolve of opponents of the military regime.
