The Dark Knight Rises Ra's Al Ghul ?

Okay it's not Alfred, but I'm certain that he's in the metaphorical lazarus pit :oldrazz:

a prison full of gotham's richest......perhaps we'll some of the same faces we saw in TDK as Bruce's pals form the fundraiser he threw for Harvey Dent

is Nolan above continuity among extras playing un-named roles?

Like Mr Earl. But in the prison he'll look more like a Hobo with a shotgun.

That bit about the scene of Bale being carried into and jumping out of the supposed pit didn't come from the FB guys. It came from an article from Times of India:

http://articles.timesofindia.indiat...525_1_christian-bale-batman-christopher-nolan

Scenes of Bale being carried into the pit and then jumping out of it were also canned. A couple of locals were cast as extras in the scenes that were shot in India.

We don't know how accurate the article is though because they also included some speculations in their article.

thats not alfred in the least bit
I also could have sworn it was Michael Caine, since it even sounded like him to me. However, on closer inspection, that man looks slightly younger and has a much lower, fuller hairline than Caine. I thought the blurred image of 'Alfred' with a beard looked a little off and now I know why.

Some of you... make my brain liquify... I just wanna... ugh *takes a deep breath and slowly puts down the crowbar*
Has anyone given a thought to the possibility that the "green pit" from the leaked pictures is the collapsing Stadium from the new trailer?

And anyone who thinks the man who says "Rise" in the trailer is Alfred.... I will find you. And I will make you listen to Michael Cain's voice until your ears bleed and become deaf because I swear on my life that, that man in the trailer saying "Rise" is NOT Alfred.

I still think that area with the staircases is the lazarus pit.

...and I was certain that old shaggy guy was Alfred.

I think, judging from the trailers, that the "lazarus pit" is where Bruce is at (while his back is healing and he's scruffy) with Alfred, and when he asks Alfred "what's that mean?" Alfred says "rise."

I'm thinking that place he's at is labeled the lazarus pit, Bruce asks what "Lazarus" means and Alfred responds "rise." That's where he goes to rehabilitate himself so he can come back stronger.

That is Tom Conti

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Tom_Conti

It appears to be a prison to me and is possibly to be where Bane imprisons him

Conti could be Roland Daggett...or not.

Bruce is about to show him what Spelunking is.

even if the "real" Ra's is dead.... someone must be impersonating him, (like the dinner scene at Wayne manor in BB) so maybe a Ra's impersonator will rise up in that underground prison to chat with bruce about ole times

"You're not Ra's Al Ghul. I watched him die....twice."

Well lets look at the definition of "Lazarus Pit". Lazarus of Bethany is the narrative that tells of the relationship (in life and in death) between an unnamed rich man and a poor beggar named Lazarus. Now, everyone knows a pit is a large hole in the ground. So it appears this underground prison is filled with the the quarantined rich people of Gotham. So technically the Lazarus Pit could be in the movie, just saying.

I very much see this theory being possible. While it may not be the exact replica as it is in the comics, we will still get a Lazurus Pit of some sort with what you just described. Wouldn't be surprised if it's explained as this.

Hey! That was my theory first!! The "Metaphorical Lazarus Pit" c'mown!

Yeah it wouldn't be the first time Nolan created a more realistic version of a more mystical thing from the comics.

" I cut myself shaving with my Raz'or al ghul "
" here Master Wayne, Mr Fox brought you some Laxarus Pit Aftershave "

So was "It's Alfred in the prison", though. :D

The guy looks shorter than Caine, too.
