A-Treasure-Trove-of-New-Posters-for-James-Gunns-Superman-Arrive-from-the-Daily-Planet.jpg

Wow. Just... wow. The best superhero film I have seen since Superman-The Movie. Bonus: I got to meet every member of the cast after. Everyone was endearing and engaging.
The movie was far far better than I expected, but certainly as fantastic as I hoped. Any critics who rips this movie apart should not have a job.
My concern before I saw it: too many heroes and villains. Nope. They did this beautifully. Never once felt chaotic or confusing.
I am seeing it again on opening day. Can't wait

Can you go into the spoiler review thread?
I have one question and one only.

Lol, settle down. Take it from a resident annoying hater: no one here is a shill. They just like something you're feeling cynical about. Don't be silly. Be grumpy about the movie, not that people have different taste than you.

lol why would WB even need to send their shills here?

superherohype forum's collective opinion of this film doesn't move the dial.

we just a small segment of the fanbase, and a blip in the radar of the whole movie going audience.

This was truly a blast. Supremely entertaining, fun and most of all sincere. Corenswet is a joy to watch, Brosnahan is a fun Lois, and Hoult is a very good Lex. The flaws pointed out by the critics are absolutely true, it is overstuffed but Gunn throws in so many things/characters/ interactions that you've probably wanted but never thought you'd see in a live action film, especially if you're a fan of the Superman comics, which pretty much makes even the overstuffed elements feel fresh.

I'm going with a score of 8. I still think Superman 1978 and Superman II are better films, because they're stronger narratively but this is the most entertaining Superman film ever put to screen. Hope when you all see it you have as great of a time as I did.

I'm mixed. Like all of James Gunn's movies it doesn't take itself too seriously. I don't know how I feel about Corenset's Superman either. He seemed more comfortable playing Clark.

It's definitely a comic book world and there is hardly any exposition. Which is a plus is my book since I hate how Hollywood has to over explain everything. But I'm not sure how the mainstream will respond.

After nearly 40 years of my own existence and loving Superman for 34 of those years, I finally for the first time have a Superman movie for me. I cried twice. Will cry some more. :hrt: :supes:

Will put some actual thoughts together in the other thread when I can actually formulate them.
