10/10. The extra scenes were icing on the cake for me. :spidey:

10.

Loved all the new stuff.

10/10

Though I can see why some things were cut from the movie.

I give it a 9.

I love the addition to the fight sequences, and the new stuff in the Peter/Otto meeting was a neat touch.

I especially loved the extended elevator scene & the train fight with Ock. Those were some of the best.:otto: Oh, & seeing Jameson in the Spidey costume was terrific.:spidey:

6. I did not care for the extended cut at all. Only one or two extended scenes were really necessary. The rest just beat down on the dead horse and was too much--the extended backyard chat with MJ and Peter was too long, and took away from some of the original cut's magic, the doctor's rant about his therapist, MJ and her friend in the shoe store, Peter taking his mask off in the busy street, and the jarring shot of 3 Peter Parkers during the Raindrops sequence were enough to outweigh the fantastic shot of Peter turning on the police scanner and the extended fight scenes.

i have had 2.1 since the day it was availible and i still haven't watched it:csad:. seeing as you guys are saying that it is that good i'm gonna have to watch it soon!:woot:

2.1 is even more epic than the original version, I especially love the added footage during the fight scenes.:spidey:

:yay: Agreed. 2.1 is like eating the perfect pizza, and then finding there is an extra slice.

But they cut out Mr. Aziz's "GooOOOooooOO!" :csad: :woot:

And I didn't like JJJ in a spider-suit. Looked... kinda weird. But the extended B-day scene and MJ's friend scene was good.

Spider-Man 2.1 was well worth the purchase. I liked the additional footage that was added in, especially the extended Spider-Man and Doc Ock train battle.

I actually wasn't too keen on the new material. It killed the pacing.

I didn't think a more that was almost perfection could be enhanced. Well, 2.1 did it.

These extras are scenes that Sam Raimi didn't want. He had complete control over the editing and he chose to delete these scenes because they either didn't work or they were not needed.

2.1 by Raimi's own words is simply a money making ploy by the studio that he had nothing to do with.

The theatrical version is one of my favorite films of all time. 2.1 is an abomination. It hurts and already perfect film.

I wish we could have seen some more Harry/Goblins scenes.

Oh, come on. It's hardly any different.

It's almost 10 minutes of useless stuff. 10 minutes of crap that Sam Raimi decided to cut. Picking off the webbing from the pizza box, JJJ in the suit, extra slo-mo on the roof, MJ listening to Pete on the machine, plus a bunch of other stuff that cuts the flow. It's not just the extra minutes in and of themselves. It's the fact that they extend scenes that don't need it, and they add nothing to already perfect scenes.

This is a clear and present danger to filmmakers. This stuff never should have been shown as part of the film. If they were shown as deleted scenes on a DVD extra that's fine. But now 2.1 is the only Spider-Man 2 cut being shown on FX. It's not what Raimi intended. He has said he want's nothing to do with 2.1 and it was clearly a studio ploy to make a few extar bucks. These scenes and extra bits of scenes were not cut for time, they were cut because they didn't work.

I agree. On the surface I want to say 'Spider-Man 2 is perfect so more Spidey 2 = better movie!'

But not only do the added scenes not show us anything new or important (ie more development for Harry), they kill the pacing of most scenes.
