I didn't say anything about only that ONE pattern working for the suit; merely that they surely tried different things. Obviously, this is the one they liked. The brick pattern is good for simulating musculature (the grid and all), so there is that.

You mention no pattern as an option. The red brick pattern is very faint - it's hardly noticeable at all. So you kind of got no pattern now. The pattern on the blue portions is different enough - it actually seems like a "natural progression" of the texture of the blue section for the ASM suit, since its raised with a gloss finish.

The only issues I have with the suit based on the pics are the belt and colors. The belt does look really nice, I just wish it was thinner. If it was just two rows instead of three it would look a less bulky. Also, the brightness of the colors in the TASM suit was so nice. The new suit is looking a bit too dark.

Most of the people who are *****ing about the suit are only doing it because they just don't like the movie and will find any excuse/reason to bash it.

I was fully expecting the suit to look closer to the classic suit in the sequel. I didn't expect them to ditch almost everything from the first suit.

Well, from my point of you, the ones that are bashing the costume right now are (at least half of them) fans of the first movie. I liked the costume too, and I could tell my fair share of nitpicks of the new costume, but I'm just not that much of a cynical person so I'm fine with it, looks kickass

The belt really isn't that thick. It's sort of an optical illusion. The belt has 3 layers in the web pattern rather than the traditional 2, so it makes the belt seem thicker than it really is. The belt is no thicker than Raimi's was, if not a little thinner than that one. Though, that is a rough comparison because the Raimi belt did warp(?) in shape as in went around where as the ASM2 belt is even all the way around. Also, the Raimi belt sat higher on the body.

TASM's suit was sleek and Spidey looked slender(like he should look),this one here looks a bit bloated

To me the Raimi suit is perfection. So glad they ditched the ASM suit considering it was really awful and goofy looking. The new suit is great and all but honestly it just looks like an earlier, less great version of the Raimi costume. Like a first unused design.

Still, I like it. Good for them for listening and ditching the ass suit.

I disagree. I think TASM2 is missing those exaggerated web patterns. The TASM2 suit has much of the same problem as the TASM1 suit in that the web pattern is really just a grid-like pattern.

Though I do think the lenses on the TASM2 suit are better, but I wouldn't say Raimi's version sucked either.

TASM2 suit uses the exact same grid web pattern as the ASM suit, except the slightly raised webbing this time allows for a bit more curvature to create the real webbing look. It's very noticeable on the mask but much very subtle throughout the rest of the suit.

I agree to an extent. As far as getting that flawless, polished on screen look, the Raimi suit wins every time.

As far as getting that extremely comic accurate look, down to how cheap and homemade his suit is supposed to look, ASM2 one wins.

Both are perfect suits in their own way.

I see what you're saying about the exaggerated web patterns, but we've yet to see some footage with the suit. Plus, if still not exaggerated enough, I wouldn't want a thick raised webbing. It's just too distracting, especially in silver.

Yeah some of the lines in the suit, like around the chest area near the spider, are similar to the TASM suit. It looks like it's only in the head/mask where the webbing looks like webs than a grid pattern.
I'm glad the webbing is a BIT raised for some emphasis, but not too raised. Plus, it's black.

Raimis suit looks great...but that raised webbing and lenses...so glad we got a change...
ASMs suit was my favorite cause it was creative and new and looked amazing on screen
but I think I like this new one more...those eyes

I wouldn't ask for it in silver. I'd just prefer to have it look more web like rather than a straight grid. It's just a bit plain and looks like it's missing that extra little flourish. It's not the end of the world, just a little niggle. I still like the TASM2 suit, but I prefer the Raimi suit overall.
