I find it funny how now the Raimi costume is utter crap.

Anyway, i do have my nitpicks on it, but overall, it's better than TASM2's IMO. The eyes on both the (First) Webb and Raimi suits are far better than oversized eyes of TASM2's.

And the belt on the Raimi suit looked SO much better. Yeah, the silver webbing in the above pic is not great. But overall, it the Raimi suits looks much better in the pics.

If this was the suit we initially had in TASM, I would maybe have liked it. But after the TASM suit, it's hard to like this one. Especially as, IMO, it's not even an improvement over the Raimi suit.

But that's me.

Who knows. I may change my mind when I see it in the trailer.

Let's not forget that the Raimi suit pic that was recently posted in here is from SM3, which was the final evolution of Raimi's suit with the webbing looking more silver than it ever did. IMO, the Spider-man 2 suit is the best live action one yet, althought we all need to see TASM2 suit in action.

I agree, it's, I dunno, kinda cheap looking. Like something out of a Syfy TV-movie, or perhaps a cosplay suit. Didn't particularly like the TASM suits design choices but at least it looked like a big budget movie suit.

The new one looks like something I'd expect to see at a comic con. Nah, I definately don't like it. It's a step backwards.

can we all agree both costumes look cool, because for me Raimi´s is like 616 spider-man and Webb´s suit is like Ultimate?
but what i will miss from TASM costume is the texture

I've already sung the praises of this new costume, if you look at the previous page(s). I stated that I love both the Raimi costume and this new one, but I think the new one is better.

I find it funny how any instance of criticism directed at Raimi's version of anything somehow tranlsates to "utter crap", or the idea that NO ONE EVER had anything negative to say of the Raimi films until now. I don't know which is more ridiculous.

It's not a binary love/hate thing. It is possible to like something while being unsatisfied with certain aspects of it. How this concept manages to elude people is baffling.

Please. People can have criticisms. That's completely fine, but lots of people DO think in absolutes, in black in white, etc ...

There's also the issue of flip-flopping. Lots of people have the tendency to jump onto new bandwagons once something is new and shiny, just as there are lots of people who refuse to accept anything that's new.

It's okay to not like something, but I just find it funny that once something new comes along, a few people like to come out and say that the once-popular, old thing was never good to begin with.

The new suit still has that.

The blue portions of the ASM2 suit use the same materials used on the ASM1 suit's blue portions.

So that reflective sheen you see on the blue portions there, will still be present in ASM2.

The only different part is the red, but even that has some reflective sheen to it, just not in the same way as the ASM1 suit.

I'm going to be honest, I think that looks pretty nice lol. Though, I agree, it would look nice if it was a bit thicker with two rows but still thinner than three rows. Btw, I made a huge mistake in the post that you quoted. I meant to say that it's not like I don't trust you or anything. Instead I said I don't trust you or anything. Sorry if I offended you by accident.

Nice catch, I think it is. Those are off-design cues you mentioned only really seen on that suit.

Raimi's suit introduced the raised silver webbing. Never suggested in any version of the costume in comics or other media.

The Spider emblem is the same as Raimi's except that the lower legs are longer as with the ASM1 suit.

Raimi's suit introduced the brick pattern in the blue and red areas. Again never seen before.

The design of the boots reflects the Raimi suit.

Essentially the ASM2 suit is Raimi's design on another actor.
