Maybe they used raised webbing for the same reason Nolan continued to use rubber suit. It looks like a tv series without that detail (spandex, or cloth web lines).

Only slightly better than Raimi's suit because of the eyes. The eyes alone can win me over, but the fact that it's the same texture, it has raised webbing and the chest symbol looks more like Raimi's than Webb's...it just makes me wanna cry(kidding, of course). The texture should've been the same as the first film's suit, the webbing should've still had a stitched-in look to it and the chest symbol should've been the same, albeit the legs could've been a tad bit smaller.

Yeah, it did. There were two differences:
1) It blended harmoniously with the raised texture of the suit material itself.
2) They they were red, like the suit.

Maybe the Raimi suit is the cheapest yet accurate way to interpret the suit.

At least they improved upon what people already liked.

I don't see a problem with re-using what works and throwing away what doesn't.

Outside of the costume ASM's universe is worlds away from Raimi's despite being based on the same thing.

and to be fair everyone making the Batman comparisons technicly you can say the Nolan suit does take insperation from the Burton suit:

it has muscle padding definition, it's black, and the cowls have SIMILAR designs..

if they really wanted the nolan suit to stand out from the Bruton be more like the comics: have it grey.

all that said this suit is awesome. its like a remix of the Raimi suit with new touches.

question is what does the rest of the suit look like? the back spider, the gloves, the pants, the boots, the webshooters, is there a belt? etc.

I think the back logo is the ASM "long legs" spider.

The front one seems to be as well. It just doesn't extend to the sides of the chest piece like TASM did

The only thing true is people like you are generalizing. Like myself, who LOVED TAS-M's suit except for the non-"belt" and the shoes, is very disappointed of what the sequel's suit has become. What would make it even worse is if we see zero transition between suits in the sequel.

I agree...I really loved the ASM costume and wish they would have only changed the eyes really...BUT...this is the perfect suit for classic spidey from the comics and I cant help but be happy to see it

(also, I never had an issue with the raised webbing on the Raimi suit.

This is pretty much how i feel, it's a good Spider-Man suit but is it a good 'The Amazing Spider-Man' suit?
