I understand why they changed the shape and went bigger, both great ideas to implement. But looking at those set pics, the eyes are huge.

It is deffiantly a 'wait and see' situation until we see this thing in a trailer. Or more dynamic promo pics.

New set photos of the suit were posted in the general discussion thread, the spider is the same as in TASM, long legs, but not as long. The colors look more vibrant than the official photo as well, the blue looks the same as TASM suit. It's sort or a meld between the structure of Raimi's suit, with the details of TASM suit and something new (eyes).

The colors still look as dull as Raimi's suit, so that is still a con, but I am glad to see the spider symbols are the same.

The picture of the full costume looks like it was fan-photoshopped, so this is confirmed to be real?

Anyway, if it is real, it's a definite improvement over the previous costume (which I thought was terribly ugly, even though the final product didn't look as bad in the actual film). The big eyes are a really good touch from what I'm seeing here. A front head shot would be appreciated though, but it does look good in a profile shot! Very comic booky.

I'm not sure what to rate it. I was hoping for more of a mix between the ASM suit and classic Spidey. Looks like the only thing they kept was the spider on the back

But the suit in that shot clearly has lights hitting it directly on, that's why the spider and some of the webbing looks silver, the new suit is under shade and doesn't have movie lights hitting it. At least not as bright, plus the suit in that pic was being filmed at night, the other during the day. Direct light will make something look more vibrant if it's in the dark.

No it wouldn't, friend! But the situation for me, as it stands, is that it feels like Raimi's suit. Like, Avi Arad pulled Webb over and said "Ya know, if you want to keep your job, ditch the new suit and just stick with Raimi suit." "But Mr. Arad, we can't just copy Toby's Spiderman outfit, we--" "DO AS YOUR TOLD, NANCY!!!" "Yes Mr. Vicious, sir..."

Or something like that. LOL I actually really liked the last look, and the fact that this suit looks more like first look down to even some of the small details bothers me a little. Sure I'll get used to it, and it looks great (thought is always looked good, especially the first time around)... I guess I just wanted something different. Something original, but a little fresh.

Those eyes really do it for me though, I say!

The only thing on the whole suit that truly sets it apart from the Raimi suits are the eyes, imagine the fanboy hate if they kept the eyes more similar to ASM which would of made it look even more Raimiesque.

No it isn't. I have no idea where people are getting this from. It's an actual picture of the costume with a bit of lighting and color adjustment done on PS.

That's it. If anything that's what they're aiming for in terms of color seeing as this was officially released by both Webb and Sony.

Of course they did this on purpose. ASM was the lowest grossing Spider-Man movie ever. So they went back to the well and the more classic successful movies.

They went way too far with that butt-ugly costume in ASM and moviegoers were put off by it. So now they are using the look made famous by the Raimi movies.

I agree the eye lenses are a bit to big (cartoony). The boots look weird too. I do like the rest though.
