Why do you take everything so literally?
I like the suit, but my criticisms are that I don't like the the big eyes, it makes the suit look more childish, makes Spiderman look a preteen (13 yrs. old). Just put Justin Bieber in the suit! I don't like the darker red, I don't like the heals on the boots as well. I don't like the shiny red material.
Watch after I see the trailers I'll end up changing my tune on the suit.![]()
Those eyes are better than the pee colored alien eyes.
Not really, the torso itself is more sleek and slimmer like TASM. The webs also seem closer to TASM in design than Raimi's, they're only very slightly raised and that pic Webb poster just emphasizes it a lot.Well, it proves that they slapped better eyes and the TASM-style spider on a Raimi costume.
If being gold makes them pee colored, how does being white not make them semen colored?
What a childish perspective.

.... *rubs eyes*I like the idea that he has so dramatically improved the suit. It's re-enforces the idea that he never intended to stay as Spider-Man beyond catching the guy who killed Uncle Ben so he just threw a suit together but the events of the first movie have left him totally committed so he made a proper costume.
My problem is that they didn't take a lot of what worked for TASM suit. Despite the details that didn't sit right with some people, TASM's suit looked like a SUIT, mainly because it looked athletic and aerodynamic. It looked like it was meant for acrobatic movements, flying/swinging through the city, and taking some damage. It looked practical while still maintaining the core visual elements of Spidey's classic look. TASM's suit made Raimi's suits look like cosplay suits despite the fact that Raimi's suits were more visually faithful/accurate to the source material. This new costume looks fantastic and most importantly is a definitive spider-man costume and some people are crying because it looks to similar to Raimi's?
What do you mean, "you people"???What's wrong with you people?
Well, they already did that with TASM...so why go and make something that's reminiscent of the Raimi films? What because TASM movies are supposed to distance themselves from Raimi's movies?
For the sequel to be consistent with TASM as much as possible.Well, we obviously have different actors and a different tone, what more do you want?
The only real similarity between those artists styles are that they drew Spidey with big eyes, which was the trend in the 90's. Bagley's style is WAAYY different than McFarlane's. McFarlane had a very gritty, dirty style while Bagley was pretty mainstream. Erik Larsen's style was considerably different than McFarlane's since McFarlane used a lot of curves while drawing his characters while Larsen's visuals were more angular. The only thing those 2 really had in common besides big eyed Spidey are the poses they drew Spidey in.Erik Larsen, Luke Ross, Mark Bagley and Todd McFarlane all had very similar styles in how they drew spidey so why should it be any different when it comes to how the suit looks in the movie.
Well...as it stands, the look of the definitive Spider-Man suit looks like a COSTUME meant to look faithful instead of a suit meant to look practical AND faithful. The end result is, the costume is definitive spidey and every one here will just have to deal with it.

I was just giving you a hard time. I like the suit just fine. Especially the eyes.
No, I won't imagine, because it's idiotic in logic. Why, because the masses won't care. The new costume is, on it's own, fantastic. The problem is that there is no real carry over from the first film. There is no visual continuity, and that is jarring.
Even if the over all aesthetic of the film is retained, the suit will likely stand out as incongruous, at least when viewing it as a continuation on the first film.
It's like if, in The Dark Knight, they suddenly had him wearing a suit far more reminiscent of Burton's. It would just be jarring.
Similarly, imagine if, in Batman Returns, they kept all the production design and feel of Batman '89, but suddenly Batman was driving one of the Schumacher Batmobiles, florescent lights and all. Kind of moving in the opposite direction, in terms of quality of design, but the contrast is the comparison.
The red part looks great to these eyes.See the difference? I love the new lenses though. And the blue parts still look fine. It's the material the red parts are made of that I dislike.
Some said something similar to this, so I hope -at least- the costume change is explainedEven if the over all aesthetic of the film is retained, the suit will likely stand out as incongruous, at least when viewing it as a continuation on the first film.
