I did find this manip the other day with the eyes edited

xh6ejuF.jpg

Nice RT. Sooo good. I tried editing myself on a Photoshop Express app on my phone and couldn't do it haha. I knew one of you guys would do it.

The bulge is just a crotch piece because of the stunt suit. The real suit obviously doesn't have that huge bulge.

I'm fine with it!

The ASm2 costume looks great compare to the costume in ASM1.

I would prefer the eyes to be more glass-like material, like it most likely will be after post-editing

even in the comics it has been said that the lenses are see-through from Peters pov but reflect the others

This is a video where a guy with Cerebral Palsy won the chance to meet Spider-Man on set. This gives us our best chance at seeing the suit in action.

I think it shows the webs are definitely a dark grey and not a silver/metallic sheen. I doubt the webs are so thin that we wouldn't see them as black this close up.

I love that video. It's just awesome that they did that.

Hey Matrix, long time no see
Nice video, cool to see the suit in action
The jump over the head is scary, I wouldn't want anyone to jump over my head

One of the things I like about that video is that the stunt man obviously "gets" Spidey - he made a point to avoid just standing there - he was crouching and perching on things. THAT'S how Spidey should be. Hopefully that mentality will be present in the film.

I loved that. Although I will say that I think TASM actually did pretty well when it came to that (the sewer scene and how he rebounded back onto the Oscorp building when climbing). We can only hope they decide to only expand on that method of body language.

I agree with what you said but I thought that 'mentality' was already present in ASM. I see no reason why they won't continue with much of the same. Some standouts for me were during the High school fight, Spidey had just come thru the hole in the wall and shot his webs to pull the lights down on Lizard. Lizard shields his eyes then turns to see Spidey is gone. Then we see Spidey on the ceiling behind Lizard with his back to the ceiling, moving back and forth looking for a good attack angle. It was a moment that made me smile just for the look of it. Actually the entire HS fight was chock full of that stuff.

The other moment was when Spider-man had just rescued the boy from the flaming/falling car and pulled him up to his father. The whole time he sat there perched on the railing of the bridge, instead of just standing on the pavement.

Man, that would've looked so awkward...

I wasn't saying that it wasn't present in ASM1, just that I hope it continues and improves in ASM2. For example, I really want to see a scene with something like this:

My apologies then. Your post made it sound like you thought it wasn't present in ASM...just a bad assumption on my part.

The top pic kinda reminds me of Black suited Spidey sitting a top the church in SM3 just before he goes into the bell tower to remove the symbiote.

I really love the bottom pic though and something like that would indeed be pretty cool. Is that JMS?

I think it should be a cardinal rule that Spidey should barely ever be just standing on his feet :P. It really is a visually active/creative thing to have in normally boring moments though. He should act much more like a spider and attach to any wall/web he can. I loved Peter sitting upside down in the corner of the room in TASM. More of that, please Webb!

I love the little things like that! The best part about this interpretation of Spidey was IMHO the way he moved. It was so... spider-like that every weird little moment was fantastic! I think the older films were missing on that because all of "Tobey"'s movements seemed way too planned out and didn't feel natural.

Man, that would've looked so awkward...

I was rewatching Spiderman 1 & 2 the other day and there was quite a bit of awkward standing around, I didn't realize just how stiff and wooden Tobey was until after TASM

Love that video of William Spencer and his movements were really cool. I came across this video the other day of the other Spidey stuntman, Ilram Choi (he does the swinging and the fighting/acrobatics) They talk a little about the physicality of the character and the spider-like movements. He seems like a cool dude :)

No worries, I wasn't exactly clear - just too excited :awesome:

Both images are Romita JR. I know the top images is from the JMS run. Not sure about the bottom one.

I've been thinking about that aspect as well.
There was a video of Andrew saying somewhere that him and the stuntmen for TASM had a "spidey shrine" or something to make sure that there movements and body language in the suit was like spidey, rather than a muscular blocky dude moving like a robot in the suit.

I really care about that aspect as well, being that spidey's poses are kinda what makes him visually iconic.

There were some cool poses in TASM, such as what the other poster said about him in the sewers- in the BTS on blu-ray, one of the guys talked about how in that particular scene, Andrew tried as much as to "move like a spider" with gentle crawling and fast head turn movements.
And we all know that Andrew said he studied spiders when getting the role because he said he wanted to feel like the spider was in his DNA, so I have 100% trust that Andrew is very sensitive and devoted to making sure he is and moves like Spidey when he's in the suit. (Maybe even out of the suit)

Stoked for that aspect in the sequel!

In addition to being very touching, the suit looks great "in action." Still not a fan of this reboot, but this movie definitely has the best costume.
