as much as i do hate when shows end, i am sure season 10 will probably be the end.

TV Addict's 2010 Prediction: Smallville & Supernatural will both be renewed

"If The CW's inability to field a complete Monday to Friday schedule this season has illustrated anything, it’s that the little-network-that-could certainly doesn’t have the financial wherewithal to develop the five to ten pilots necessary to properly replace their aging roster of once-hit shows. Which is why we are confident both SMALLVILLE and SUPERNATURAL, with their incredibly loyal fanbases will be renewed for a tenth and sixth season respectively."

Makes sense, their inability to perhaps fund a the large number of pilots required to replace aging shows combined with the likelihood that they couldn't improve on what they have been currently getting on a Friday night with Smallville anyway would indicate that a 10th & final season looks imminent unless The CW gets bought over, goes bust..or anything odd happens.

yea there is no reason not for a 10th season. The network needs the show, it holds there fridays. It still get decent ratings, and does better then there mon-tuesday night shows on a friday. Plus with pretty much all of the cast locked down for a 10th season in their season 9 contract they are all set there.

Live+7 for POWER=4,9 via K-site forum
wooooooww
It reminds me of WRATH who got 5,2 for the finale rating.
KK sure has so many fanbase, huh!

So for the first new episode of 2010 Disciple scored a 2.52 million, 1.1 demo according to THR the live feed. Waiting to see if that totally official.

2.5 million isn't that bad considering it's the first episode from the hiatus.

totally and since the show has pretty much held between 2.4-2.7million so far all season long its a great number to come back on.

forgive me if this has been mentioned before, but what do you think the ratings will be for absolute justice?

considering people who are fans of the jsa, and not the usual audience for smallville, i estimate that we could see figures enter the 4m mark , if not more.

if this happens, i'm wondering how much of an effect this will have on the executives at wb and maybe open up some opportunities to see future dc characters on tv or film.

I think it'll be between 3.0 to 3.3 million viewers Live+SD, and 4.5 to 4.8 million Live+7.

man it owuld be great if it can be 4million and it could if we get lucky. But like diz said i say 3.0-3.3million is a safer beat. Which will still be great numbers.

The Biz - The Big Shows on the Bubble
by Stephen Battaglio

*excerpt*

The [CW] network wants to use the Thursday hour after its new hit The Vampire Diaries to launch a new series. So does Supernatural move to Friday and pair with Smallville? That would put two aging and pricey shows on the night, but word is the CW is leaning toward keeping both. The future is not so bright for Melrose Place, where the network is not expected to renew its lease.

I would love Supernatural and Smallville to pair up again. I bet they would pair Vampire Diaries with that new series about Changelings who save humans from evil...

Changelings whaaaaat?! Is it me or is the CW becoming.....dare I say it....better?

I would think Supernatural and Smallville in the same night would create superb ratings for both shows.

yea i posted something of that same wording a few days ago in the season 10 thread. I could see it happening since its very likely both sv and spn will be back for another season. Moving spn to fridays would give cw a 1hr slot on thursdays, then they have another 1hr slot for wensdays, and if melrose place doesnt get picked up a 3rd 1hr slot on tuesday to play with. Then they have 5 pilots shooting now with hoping they go to series. So with 3 1hr slots to play with for fall season i could see 3 of the 5 shows probably getting picked up. Then the other 2 either not picked up or held to mid season.

You'd think Dawn O would understand that all those same freakin shows that she likes are not getting it done. More shows like Smallville and Supernatural and you'd see a consistent audience.

yea i know, weird huh and then how in the bloody hell is wb or cbs happy with her? she should have been fired a yr or two ago.

they'll let her stay because of vampire diaries. it's their number one show on the network.

Let's be real: Vampire diaries probably wasn't her idea. She likes shows like 90210, Melrose Place, Gossip Girls, and Privilaged life, most of whom have been cancelled. She's also the one who wanted to can Smallville and Supernatural and DID can Smackdown on the network(their number one at the time) so again............I doubt this was her idea.

well actually he cant can smallville on her own. its been stated many times she has bosses above her who have the final say and alot of the folks on the wb board love the show and since its a money maker for them that is one of the reasons its still going to day. So we can pretty much thank those execs on the CW board for the show still be around.

if anything, supernatural has higher quality than smallville IMO.

i love the shows both and they each have their good parts about them. But yea i can say sn writing at times is a bit better then sv.
