For a cartoon aimed at kids, and I mean squarely aimed at kids (which could be enjoyed by all ages, true) the version of Victor in the TT toon was fine. For a live action movie based much more on the comics? Yeah you better give him more than just "Booya" as a personality. You kinda do have to get into the pathos of the character. Not getting into that HUGE part of his character (established in the comics for a very long time, far longer than any animated version of the character) cheapens things immensely in my view. It's like expecting Theon Greyjoy to be a barrel of laughs after his time in the Dreadfort.
Haha, Miller and Momoa aren't given a script like everyone else to learn beforehand. Miller is given a big board saying BOOYA!! and Momoa gets 2 big boards saying MY MAN!! and YEAHARGHH!!.
