Justice League Ray Fisher - WB Investigation Updates Thread

That conversation with Johns about Cyborg’s genitals does sound like the most awkward ****ing conversation in human history, I’ll give him that.

THR article says the investigator led "one of three investigations" on JL. So there were THREE investigations?? lol There must be one investigator we don't know about then. I thought it was just the guy Ray hung up on during the Zoom call due to suspicions of bias, and then this former federal judge lady here. Who is the 3rd one then.

What made this supposed unbiased investigator come to the rescue of WB after all this time?

If Ray was talking out of his ass, he would be in court right now defending himself from countless lawsuits

This will never end. People can think what they will about Ray, but his tenacity is an admirable superhero quality.

Ray talking out his ass and being 110% right about literally everything are not the only two options. It's not an either/or situation. I'm sure Johns was an insensitive weirdo, it's also entirely possible the degree to which the investigation found he was an insensitive weirdo didn't constitute any kind of fireable offense compared to Whedon's obviously unacceptable behaviour.

Would someone with a more detailed knowledge of all this mind elaborating on how Ray thinks Hamada tried to undermine it? Was it just him saying he liked Johns and this didn't sound like him?

Ray obviously isn't a liar. He clearly had a terrible experience, Whedon is obviously a bad guy and Johns could well be as well. Totally open to him being right about everything, but the investigators statement is still an important data point.

He has a cheek to talk about desperate. THREE investigations... enough is enough. The investigator Fisher supposedly praised said there was no interference (attempted or not) by Hamada.

It's over, Ray. Enjoy the Snyder Cut and move on with your life and career.

They really don't need rescue now. As admirable as it is that Ray is still fighting on this, it's pretty clear they ain't dumping Hamada. Especially not if they can now point to this and say they found no wrongdoing on his part.

WB could kill this whole thing tomorrow by suing Ray for libel. But they refuse too. Probably because they don't have a case

Lol see which trade WB uses again? :funny:

Wonder what the other investigators said, is this the same one that had the leaked tape saying Ray is credible?

It’s like murder and attempted murder are 2 different things, is there attempted interference? Happy to make Hamada’s “affidavits” public for transparency, since WB is so supportive of BLM & Black Superman?

I didn't realize there were THREE investigations. at the very least that should have found Something more. I do want to hear Geoff Johns side of this.

Have they even threatened to sue?

Better to use court of public opinion via major press on a black man while promoting BLM & Black Sup :funny:

WB been silent on the whole things and likely have been doing things mainly behind scene out of public eyes. I'm more than certain that WB does not have a leg to stand on in term of suing or bringing it to court as it would involved discovery & a lot of messy things will be revealed.

Never ever trust a mega conglomerate corporate with history of exploitation & cover-up.

Don't think so. Couple weeks ago he basically dared them to sue him

As we saw with Whedon, unless you're a white woman the press won't care. They could get away with suing Ray while at the same time pretending to be inclusive

I doubt we'd ever hear anything from Geoff regardless of how this ends up for him. There won't be any public statements from him if he's given the boot and none if he isn't. It would all be business as usual, he would either keep working on his DC stuff, or he would disappear for a couple of years and then resurface to do some independent work afterwards. What I think is for sure is that he will never give an interview in his life again. Or at least not the kind of interviews he used to give, let alone get his own panels on conventions again. It's sad, he's a talented guy and as someone who's tragically lost family members too I can relate to him, but he just thought he was too big for his britches.

I really hope you are wrong about that. Ray seems to be more credible/ less vague about Whedon. The Cyborg's genitals/liking the guy who played him in Doom Patrol stuff i seems out of left field. It's depressing if you are right. I'm kind of hoping Geoff, not WB sues Ray Fisher. but we will see what happens I guess.

What is essentially Ray Fisher questioning their professional integrity and the integrity of both their investigating, and the nature of this rather charged investigation. Bad for business.

What's wrong with the question?

Honestly, while I get what he's going for, he's kind of wrong about the catchphrases and such not being used. Several of the other characters and their catchphrases and associated pop culture/sillier elements ARE being utilized in the DCEU films.

Granted, we haven't heard "I'm Batman" yet, but we have heard classic or well known lines pulled right from the comics.

I'm pretty sure Wonder Woman has talked to Hera now and then in her two films (or maybe reviews just keep using the phrase in reviews). There are numerous jokes about Aquaman talking to fish, Barry talking about how hungry he is all the time...

Superman is talking about Truth and Justice in JL. And the theatrical version of JUSTICE LEAGUE literally ends with "Look, up in the sky".

I think he's reaching a bit with that one.

Removing Ray from it, I’ve always hated that stupid ass catchphrase. Lends nothing to the character.

as someone who wanted the catchphase, i though Ray was been a bit too uptight about it. Based on what he and ZS wanted to do with the character i can understand if it wasnt right for this version. but at the same time its the character's first appearance in a big movie, nothing wrong with having it. its a cbm, we can have fun with it.

Booyah is fine with a more comical version of Cyborg, but a more serious version, not so sure unless it feels organic somehow.

I would find it strange if WW out of nowhere said "Merciful Minerva" or Superman said "Great Scott" or "Rao."

Booyah is hella lot more organic then Merciful Minerva or Great Scott/Rao, both of which havent been part of those two characters histories for over a decade compared to Cyborg whose spent time in the modern era yelling it on Teen Titans (GO)

I could imagine Cavill saying Great Scott though :funny:

You're missing context. Its not Ray coming out of nowhere saying its sacrilegous to have Cyborg say "booyah". He has literally said "booyah" on stage before at cons because a fan asked him to. Ray's response came after fans and checkmarks on twitter became very loud about how NOT SAYING it is wrong, and a misreading of the character, destroying childhood, hating Cyborg as a character, etc etc.
