It's just hard for me to put in the same category as Jamarcus Russel. Seems like the term "bust" is too generic at this point.

Well, Jamarcus Russel is the biggest bust in history, not many players will compare to that.

Reggie Bush was talked up to be the 2nd coming of Barry Sanders and delivered 2nd String caliber performances for most of his career.

Reggie has definitely been a bust.

You don't draft a running back that high for them to be a KR/PR and a glorified third-down back.

A player who didn't live up to certain expectations shouldn't always be looked at as a "bust". That term better fits a player who gave their team little or nothing in return for their investment in them.

Reggie Bush gave the Saints plenty of value, he isn't a bust.

The only RB in the league that I would take top ten is AP. Running backs just aren't as valuable when you can get an Arian Foster right off the street.

The Saints could have gotten the same if not more production from a undrafted free agent back on a minimum salary. You also have to think how much money Bush made, he was getting paid more than Adrian Peterson and all he was doing was returning kicks and getting stuffed in the backfield.

1. Brandon Weedin
2. Ryan Tannehill
3. Trent Richardson


But most of that has to do with how completely clueless the Browns and Dolphins organizations are. The Dolphins might have a solid QB, but he needs some work and with no receivers to throw to and a questionable coaching staff, throwing him into the fire right out of the gate will likely lead to him being shell shocked by the end of the season. Richardson has lots of talent but is already injured and the Browns will find a way to make it worse.

As for Weedin... that guy is just ****ed.

Weedon's success depends on how Richardson does. If he has a reliable bulldozer in the backfield he could very well succeed. Look at how well Matt Ryan did in his rookie year with Michael Turner, and how TJ Yates was able to succeed with Arian Foster in the backfield.

Its wierd too because friends of mine that are skins fans are crowing like they already won the division and super bowl. He has looked good in preseason but its preseason. If its week 7 and hes lighting it up maybe Ill believe.

Two years ago, I was in a 7-11 near College Park after a preseason game, when I overheard two Redskins fans talking. You know what I heard?

"Yeah, yo, our third string quarterback is legit this year, man. We goin' to the playoffs this year, yo."

I've lived in or near a few cities with dedicated fanbases of a team or two. I've not heard ******** before like I've heard from Redskins fans.

Oh, I guess this means that DeCastro should also be considered for our 2012 bust list. I hope he can stay healthy after he comes back, but this doesn't bode well for him. And since the Steelers' O-Line has sucked for the past 7,000 years, it's very likely he'll be terrible even when he is healthy.

He's even wearing Alan Faneca's number. So that got my hopes up.

But in all seriousness, I was starting to get a little worried, hearing from the commentators that DeCastro was apparently "disappointing" in practice (I forget the actual word they used, but it was something to that effect). Same with Mike Adams. A dude supposedly with first-rounder talent who was just a bonehead throughout school, makes a plead to the Steelers organization to show he'll bust his ass and be the best damned lineman he can be.

Then he shows up in the first preseason game, and we find out he was getting training from a turnstile. Sean Spence and Chris Rainey seem to be the bright spots in this draft, so far.

-Mike Wallace is back at Steelers camp.

-The Redskins released Chris Cooley. He's a player I'd love for the Steelers to pick up if we didn't have Heath Miller. Chris is too good to play in a backup role (I do think Heath is a better Tight End, but Chris would be better served elsewhere).

He's hilarious. He goes on a local radio station all the time (one Dan Snyder apparently despises, that LaVar Arrington is currently on) and was talking about wanting to fight Tony Romo in an MMA match, and how he roots for Tony to have bad games. For some reason, that was a big deal to the NFL channel.

Either way, he's one of the most down-to-earth NFL players I've heard. Instead of giving the basic interview answers you hear out of every NFL player ("The [insert bad team] are a great team, with a young defense that's going to do great things in the future, blah blah"), he'd be blunt about a lot of stuff. If he had to give the scripted answers, he usually made it really apparent he was doing so.

It's because of him that I know that every single player in the NFL is the "best in the league" at his position. Every time I think I know who the best is, Jon Gruden surprises me with another one!

I still can't believe the Bears promoted Mike Tice to OC after his offensive line surrendered 7,000 sacks in the past two years. What the hell is wrong with that team?

It took them years to actually get a decent WR. They finally have a good team to field. Too bad they're the third best team in that divison.

Even in Madden the Eagles choke and Matt Ryan can't win a playoff game. At least its kind of realistic.

Gruden is definitely the most entertaining. If it wasn't for him the world wouldn't know about THIS GUY.

Oh, Gruden is certainly entertaining. But Cooley was making it sound like the guy is really insightful when he's calling a game. I actually believe Gruden COULD be somewhat insightful if he was actually trying, but unfortunately, he's content to knobslobber over every mediocre talent in the league for some reason or another.
