Didn't Nolan say he was even initially opposed to the ending of Man of Steel?
I believe he was against the whole neck-snapping thing.

Probably wouldn't have gone with so much destruction porn either, though I admittedly have nothing to back this supposition up with.

Boom has already completed a mentorship programme under another great leader.

I really hope that when the dust settles that Ben doesn't **** off and leave The Batman. I thought he was suspect in JL but I thought he was phenomenal in BvS. C'mon Ben, give us one more Batman performance.

Surely the circumstances of 'The Batman' is way better for Ben. It looks like it's not going to be connected to the DCEU. The director is respected. They are taking their time with the script. There is no release date so the movie isn't being rushed. C'mon Ben, just ONE more movie, PLEASE!!

Matt Reeves has said that he wants to do a trilogy.

Ben must know that the fans don't hold him responsible for the debacle of the Snyder trilogy, at least I don't.

I doubt Ben will stick around, which is a shame considering this is his chance to shine...

Matt Reeves said:
I have ideas about an arc, but really, the important thing is just to start … you have to start with one. You know, you have to start with a story that begins something.
That is hardly a commitment, but he is at least humoring the idea of making more Batman movies (should the first one be successful). Even if there's no guarantee that we're getting a Matt Reeves Batman trilogy, so long as that remains a possibility you have to look at the bigger picture. If you can't lock Ben Affleck down for an additional three-film contract, you replace him before you get started.

Recasting the part between a Justice League movie and a stand-alone Batman franchise is far preferable than recasting within the stand-alone Batman franchise itself.

My thoughts:

1) Trolls remain trolls even if JL is indeed an incredible disappointment at box office.
Simply because who predicted the "failure" of JL are the same that predicted the financial failures of Suicide Squad and BvS and recently WW's flop.
So I am not impressed by their catastrophic predictions.

2) The problem of DCEU is not Superman, or at least is not only Superman. The problems are Batman and Superman that did not work as WB expected.
Affleck had to be DCEU's DowneyJr, but it simply did not work. The result is that Whedon had to reshoot parts of the movie putting Wonder Woman in the lead role of Batman in Snyder's version.

BvS did not cross the 1b mark at the box office.
Justicle League will be lucky to hit the 700m mark.

So Batman and Superman's time is over? They are done forever?
Of course not. We know perfectly how things work at Hollywood.
Batman Begins did only 374m ww in 2005 and in less than 3 years it did 1 billion.
Same thing for Spiderman:
Spiderman was a almost billion franchise till 2007
In 2014 it struggled to cross the 200m mark in the US.
In 2017 it is again a blockbuster.

I think that at WB they are undoubtedly in trouble by now. It's really a difficult situation, but...two things are sure: the first is that sh movies remain a huge business and that Marvel will continue to make money. I don't think that at WB they'll decide stop making sh movies.
The second one is that there is no DCU without Batman and Superman. You can say that Cavill and Affleck will be recast, that they will wait till they have a good script, but there is not a single chance that they will put on ice them...maybe for decades.
Who says this, it's clearly only a hater and a troll.

I hope so, i hope all the actors know that.
Each and every actor in this DCCU has done the best possible thing with what they have been given...even Eisenberg.

The actors/characters are not the problem.

I dont know about that.
I can see him leave after the rough year he had.
But i can also see him have time now to take a breather and come back with a fresh, new attitude towards it.
With a good script and director that Matt Reeves, i can see Affleck throw Keaton from the throne as the definitive Batman/Bruce Wayne.
But all we can do is wait and see in the moment.

WTF?

No-one here, of any opinion or position, has ever said that Batman and Superman won’t get more movies made. Who are these haters and trolls who would say that?

A lot of people here have speculated as much for Superman. WB has always had a fickle view of the character.

I hope he does. He's seemed bored and uninterested with this role from the get-go. His latest performance felt so phoned in.

We had a younger Bruce in BB, an older one in BvS.

If WB were to reboot, which would you guys prefer?

Honestly, I don't really think the DCEU is "dead". At least, if you mean "a combined setting where characters can meet and cross over". If you mean the specific set of thematic assumptions that composed the DCEU as created by Zach Snyder? Yeah, that is deader than dead. However, I think WB is going to go soft retcon rather than total abandonment, if only because they will *eventually* want to do crossovers again.

Which is to say, the upcoming DC movies will still all take place in the same world. However, the editorial mandate on directors will be more in the "just don't deliberately make things incompatible" range. Otherwise, directors will have more freedom, and will specifically have the freedom to ignore inconvenient canon established by Snyder, just like Jenkins did. Matt Reeves will get to make his Batman movies, but they won't be a freestanding universe. They just will get to be their own stories, rather than "Justice League Interquel Part 2-4".

A website by the name of SuperBrosMovies put up a "exclusive" that they heard that Joss whedon was no longer involved with Batgirl

El Mayimbe said the news was false, and that Joss is still working on the script, and WB themselves asked for the article to be taken down,

there response to the matter, https://***********/SuperBroMovies

On behalf of Warner Bros, we have been asked to delete the article on Joss Whedon no longer directing Batgirl, out of respect for the industry and company we will be.

They are preparing to put out an official statement as well.

Problem, is right now, i dont see a director for Superman who could seem a sure bet for Warner Bros, if not Christopher Nolan. And he would never do it.
Patty Jenkins for mos2!!! She would be perfect, and she loves superman.
