I am watching it on FX and it really isn't half bad. It is pretty good. It is just an action movie, it is not meant to be that deep, but what do people expect from The Punisher? Its actually really good.

Which one are you watching?? The newer one with Jane or the older one with Lundgren

considering it's on FX, take a guess

Both Punisher movies are good for their times, I don't care if the movies didn't follow the comics word for word, the hell with the comic nerds and enjoy the films.

to be honest the '04 film had a lot from the comics in it, the neighbors and the Russian are from the Welcome Back Frank story and the whole end of the film is pretty damn close to The Punisher year one mini series, even down to the Declaration of intent. I am a huge fan of the comics have been reading The Punisher for 20 years now and thought the '04 film was damn good, sure something could have been better but Thomas Jane's portral as Frank made up for all of them if you ask me.

the '04 film is very good. Like you said, its a good action film, no need to expect much more. And yes, it really does have a lot of influence from the comics.

the 04 was pretty good but im not a punisher fan so I dont know how rich the comic stories are

I saw no reasons for all the hate the 2004 movie got. It wasn't perfect, but what movie is?

I thought it was good.

It was a fun revenge trip action movie. And the effects were done old skool. No CGI crap. And I respect it for that. But Miami? Come on.

I think why I didn't think much of it was because it didnt seem like a super hero movie just an action flick

Yea to bad he's not doing part 2 he was the best thing about part 1.

Why do some many bash on this film? It followed the comics pretty close, so why do I keep seeing people say they didnt?

It really sucks that tom wont be coming back because he's what made it fun, the punisher was a sick bastard in this film just like he should be.

Eh....I'm rambling now....

I dont think anyone bashed '04 movie.

punisher 04 satisfied my punisher needs too bad jane's out of the sequel

Even though critics didnt think much of the movie though, a lot of the general audience did, honestly, out of my 30 closest friends and family, about half-2 3rds have seen it and thought it was a good movie.

And lets face it Jane just OWNED.

I liked the 2004 Punisher. I think it would've done better at the Box Office if it hadn't came out the same weekend as KB vol 2.

^Agreed, such a shame we wont see Jane in this role again.

I agree the first film got screwed opening against Kill Bill. Still sorry to see Jane go. I liked the series Rome and Thought Stevenson was good on the show but he just doesn't seem right for Frank to me. Plus Jane is a hell of a lot better actor IMO
