I want Doc Ock back. He is the most popular villain I think that has been in the movies, and would help attract people back to watch Spider-Man.

How about morlun? It doesn't need to be a spiderverse film or anything. Just morlun and the inheritors chasing down spidey

Kraven? Surprised he isn't an option...

Don't Fox own Kingpin? Or is that no longer the case?

^^Vincent D'Onofrio is Kingpin in the MCU starting in 2015's Daredevil series

It would be a terrible first story for a franchise. Or second. Or even third. It's a great story, but there has to be a LOT of build up for it to have any impact.

I hear you. I would like to see it at some point. Maybe they could introduce him at some point and then have that story latter in a different movie.

Speaking of which. If Marvel had Spidey back and introduced Mysterio... then you y'know what that could possibly lead to? :awesome:

Well to be fair, I doubt they would just jump to do that, but at least the possibility would be there.

If its a Marvel Spiderman film its anybody's guess. However if its Sony , it looks like it could be Kraven, Venom/Carnage, Hobgoblin, or The Sinister Six which would likely be a combination of the previous options. That said my hope is that it isn't one of the Goblins or the Osborns again.

Morbius would be awesome! They could adapt the early 90s Sub-City storyline where he uses a bunch of mole people as his underground army. May be a bit too dark for a first outing though

I've said this in the summit thread, but this is pretty much my thought on it:

One thing I've said that seems to good to pass up if Marvel Studios does Spidey is bringing Vincent D'Onofrio's Kingpin to the big screen after the Daredevil Netflix series. I'm really stoked about that one, we've heard some really good things about Kingpin's character so far in that.

I think having an overarching threat of a villain like the Kingpin would be the way to go. What can Spidey do that really makes a difference with a guy like that out there? Supervillains being brought in is a logical extension in that conflict. It worked really well in The Spectacular Spider-Man with Tombstone funding places like Oscorp secretly to create supervillains to distract Spider-Man from his lower, profitable operations.

That'd be the way to do it, I think. It ties Spidey nicely to more of the street level side of the MCU, effectively giving that area its 'big boy' on the big screen already if they have plans to do any features with any of the Netflix characters. Because all the characters the MCU has had so far are really Avengers related and dealt with and will deal with with bigger things like Hydra and crazy space stuff. More of the New York crime scene hasn't really been explored yet.

When I first heard of the possibility of a Marvel Studios Spider-Man maybe actually being possible this week, when I thought long and hard about what direction it might take- that's what I think. It starts climbing into a niche Marvel Studios films haven't really touched yet. Now, for a supervillain- I'm all for Mysterio. He would be terrific. There's a lot of fun layers to that character beyond what he offers in the trickery department.

RDJ & D'Onofrio seem to get along really well. Would be great to see some interplay between their Kingpin and Tony Stark in future movies (or even on the Daredevil Netflix).

I think Mysterio would be pretty cool, with maybe the Scorpion thrown in as well. I've long thought that those two would complement each other well. I wouldn't have a problem with them bringing back Dr. Octopus. Its been ten years since SM2 and I could see an argument for going big. Kingpin wouldn't be a bad choice either.

I do think they should hold off on the Green Goblin for a little bit though.

I would like to see Shocker but I feel like they wouldn't put a whole lot of substance into it. I would like to see Kraven though.

Same. I cannot express how much I want Mysterio

A random idea that's been floating in my head for a while, but I always thought it'd be neat if we introduce Scorpion, but his tail was made by Octavius. It's from the same line of research/a prototype of some sort. When Scorpion goes nuts, Otto insists there COULDN'T have been anything wrong with HIS machines, so he starts working on his arms way too much, inevitably leading to his accident.

Just be a neat way to tie villains together between movies. Besides, Scorpion's not very complicated, so I think he could work as a starter villain.

I'm up for seeing Scorpion. I just don't want a mech suit. I didn't mind with Rhino, but its different for Scorpion.

Scorpion's pretty much always had some sort of mechanized armor, hasn't he? I think he had that in combination with a bunch of super science drugs in the comic, but I don't think a mech suit is too big a stretch for him.

Mechanized armor is okay just not anything like Rhino in TASM 2. DOn't get me wrong, I didn't mind his design I just don't want that for Scorpion

You mean like a huge robot suit? Yeah, I don't want that either.

In my mind, he would have some basic, spiky, armor, but with a big tail at the end.
