They should go the SSM route and have the Vulture as the first villain. He can carry his own movie.

In my own Spider-Man franchise that I have made from a few months back (Still isn't completed), my villains go like this:

Vulture
The Lizard and Kraven The Hunter
Doc Ock
The Enforcers (Sandman, Shocker and Rhino)
The Green Goblin
_______________
_______________
_______________
_______________
_______________

I have a franchise of 10 Spider-Man films, and I'm a bit stuck with filling in the remaining villains but just wanted to get it out here.

So, I'd definitely start with a small villain (maybe a couple to make just one big villain) and work my way up.

I voted "other" cause I think Vulture would be a good villain to start off with.

Where's Kraven??

Anyways... I chose Mysterio. It's about time we get either him or Kraven. And don't tell me neither would be able to carry a whole film on his own. It's all about the story/screenplay... that's what makes them work.

Mysterio or Octavious would make for good first villains in a new franchise. Most of the others work best with some set up. Scorpion should be created in the second film, and be responsible for Captain Stacy's death, setting up Jameson for blackmail. I'd save Kingpin for after Gwen's death, and have him be the villain that brings Peter back into action. Morbious' first appearance would make for a good movie, but with the black suit swapped out for the whole 6-arms gimmick. Hobgoblin and Carnage both obviously need Venom and Norman to come first.

As much as I love them, Shocker and Vulture both really only work as minor threats or henchmen, in my opinion.

I have wanted to see Scorpion but I don't think it happen because he is too much like the Lizard. Shocker would be great secondary villian:

Green Goblin, just because Batman Begins worked without using Joker or one of Batman's other big bads as the first villains doesn't mean it's a necessity. Especially with Marvel doing away with origin stories, give us Goblin or Ock.

...how are they alike at all? Lizard is kind of like the Hulk, while Scorpion is some guy trapped in a suit with an unstable mentality.

Kraven The Hunter or Mysterio I say stay away from Green Goblin for 2 or 3 movies

But if They go with Green Goblin again I want to see The Green Goblin from The comics please don't change his design

Kingpin. Use the one big villain Sony wasn't allowed to because they didn't have the rights. Marvel being able to do things with the Spider-Man character that Sony can't is a big selling point to fans and it sends a big message right out of the gates.

1) The "Marvel isn't doing origin stories anymore" rumor was debunked by Feige himself LONG ago. I don't know why people keep repeating it.

2) Using Norman as the first villain was a huge mistake by Raimi, in my opinion. The Goblin story needs time, so we can get to know both Harry and Norman.

Since Daredevil and Spider-Man share The Kingpin as a villain maybe Marvel could make a Daredevil and Spider-Man team up movie and use him as The Villain

Yes! I absolutely think that is a good idea. The best way to establish that things are going to be different is to do things Sony wasn't allowed to do. A Spider-Man/Daredevil teamup would be perfect. And it fits the characters, it isn't like we're suggesting a Spider-Man/Rocket teamup.

Chameleon or Mysterio, hands down.

how on earth could Chameleon carry an entire movie? when it comes to the major stuff, he'll always be a piece of a bigger puzzle, as awesome he may be

Mysterio would be awesome though. I can't wait for mainstream movie goers to see Mysterio in a trailer and be like "so the next Spidey villain is some random sorcerer? really scraping the bottom of the barrel..."

For a long time I've had this dream film of Peter being a student assistant on Curt Connors secret lizard experiment. Pete directly helps Connors create the serum. Connor transforms into the animalistic lizard and peter feels responsible and wants to save him. The lizard travels through the sewers and gains legend fame in Manhattan. Kraven hears about it and wants to find this creature and tries to hunt the lizard. Now Pete's in a fights not only against Kraven, but also has to find a way to save Connors from being this monster he helped create. In the end, Connors gains an extra psychotic personality within the Lizard and goes mad. Kraven later takes his focus away from the lizard and solely onto Spider-Man because he feels that Spider-Man was the more worthy prey. The Lizard turns a small townhouse residence into lizards by using a gas version of the serum. The Lizard uses this small lizard army to make a larger device that'll make all of a manhattan into the first lizard city. And the climax is Spider-man trying to fight off the hunter, whiling stopping the Lizard and turning him back into Connors.

The Amazing Spidey did that, but not as well as I wanted them to. I personally felt the 90s cartoon did the lizard better. But I did enjoy ASM a lot.

I do like Shocker and Mysterio. Would be interesting to see what they do with them. In the hands of Marvel, I have a little more faith.

Waltz needs to be in the MCU. Just imagine they threw him in as Doc Ock, criminal mastermind behind the scenes. I can't even right now... #fangirling

*cough* KINGPIN *cough*

Got one great actor already playing him for Marvel Studios' Daredevil Netflix series. He could be done like the Thanos of street level Marvel. Give Spidey an enemy with some real gravitas making what he does a real uphill battle while also providing a nice way to bring in super criminals like Mysterio or Shocker for Spider-Man to fight.
