Sequels Reboot.

At this point, there should be no reboot. That would be stupid. However, if they were to reboot, this is what I wanna see:

6 X-Men
-Professor X
-Jean Grey
-Cyclops
-Angel
-Iceman
-Beast (in his human form)
... all teenagers

5 members of the Brotherhood:
-Magneto
-Toad
-Mastermind
-Quicksilver
-Scarlet Witch
...and maybe throw Blob in there, too... since he was one of the first comic book villains ever... and to even out the teams

No Gambit. No Rogue. No Apocalypse. No Wolverine. No Storm. No 500 million muntants walking the earth.

My 2 cents. ...and F*** the Wachowski Brothers.

That would tank *so* damn badly. Just like the X-men comics did with that cast.

Ya I wouldn't want to see them all as teenagers. Also Wolverine needs to be in it .

Seriously, a saltless love story, a guy who needs wings to fly when almost everyone else in the universe flies without them, Beast before he was interesting and furry, and Iceman don't really make a good team. They can be interesting characters, but there has to be more...likeable people on the team.

If they do a reboot, I hope they still use a lot of the characters that were in this series. Xavier, Scott, Jean, Storm, Logan, and Rogue should definitely still be in a reboot. Magneto, Mystique, and Pyro should be, too. Pyro, from what I understand, is one of the most popular movie characters. I think it would be a mistake to not include him (although I do worry that they won't find anybody to portray him as well as Aaron Stanford did). I'd love to see Scarlet Witch and Quicksilver in it from the start, as well. They're in my X4 script; but it was very difficult to fit them in, as I'm also trying to shift the Brotherhood over to the "good guys" side for the Apocalypse storyline in X5.

Those characters should definitely be in any restart from the beginning, IMO. Other characters can be included, but these are the most important.

They need someone to actually flesh out their personalities and not cast the kid mutants from extras of seventh heaven.

I wouldn't mind a mix of ages like in the first series. I also wouldn't mind all the main characters being a little older. Either way, though, they shouldn't all be teenagers.

I liked it when they varied with age but like Colossus and Rogue bothered me but I can see that you liked Rogue.

i mainly didnt like that rogue was a teenager , i waited for her big moment and it never came

I didn't even mind her being a kid that much... I was more angry at the fact that she wasn't Southern. :csad:

Hmmmm... your reboot sounds an awful lot like the current franchise... :whatever:

Kinda defeats the purpose, no?

You need a director and writer to spread the story around. Also some of the X-men as teenagers just not all.

Weren't the X-Men always comprised of teenagers... Xavier's School for Gifted Youngsters?

No. The original five were teenagers but eventually grew up, and then the team became a mixture of both teenagers and adults.

I think a lot of people would still like to see all of those characters. I'm sure some can't imagine an X-Men movie without them.

Not really. I mean, there are a lot of characters that are also characters in this franchise, but that doesn't mean it will be anything like the current one. Storylines, actors, and the character's personalities can be completely different; I'm just saying that those few characters should be in a restart if they do one. There's a reason those characters were featured in this series: they're some of the most popular characters of all time. X-Men just wouldn't feel right without them. Maybe Pyro, okay; but I'm really not sure that excluding him would be a good idea given his movie appeal.

And, I didn't say those had to be the only characters in the franchise. I said that they should add in Scarlet Witch and Quicksilver, and I left room for Bobby, Kitty, Colossus, Toad, Sabretooth, Callisto, Warren, Beast, and probably some others I'm forgetting to be replaced if it's better for the story.

PS: Am I the only one who thinks that, in a few years, Shawn Ashmore could play Cyclops? ;)

He's 33... almost 34.

Yes. :D :p

Ashmore is 27 (almost 28), and Marsden is 33 (almost 34) like BMM said.

So, in fact, Ashmore is about the same age Marsden was when Marsden began playing Cyclops.

Really? I like Marsden. I think he is (was) a believable Cyclops... and he seems like a genuine guy. I just think he was overshadowed and pushed to the side. He never really got his time to shine. I was kind of hoping to see more of him during the Dark Phoenix Saga.

^^ I'm not disagreeing with you but this statement also applies to the originals which were barely in any of the films...

Bottom line, I don't see a point in "rebooting" a film franchise if you're gonna follow a similar format. Anybody follow me?... or am I alone on this?... they're not gonna restart the series 'cause some fans were unhappy with a couple characters... none of the movies were bad... and whatever they did they can still bring it back... the comics go off base all the time when they change writers out...

(In other news... I watched Daredevil this weekend for the first time ever... there's a film that needs a reboot--if it were worth it.)

Marsden made a great Cyclops. With his personality, he woulda made a good Iceman, too. I don't think he liked being all dark & serious all the time... that's why he wasn't committed to the character....

Which actor is Ashmore? Is that Pyro?

I didn't like how they portrayed Cyclops, I think he should have been a real take action kind of guy. oh well

I don't think there's a problem with using some of the same characters as long as others are brought in as well and as long as all are interpreted in an interesting and potentially different light.

That's definitely understandable.

Shawn Ashmore plays Bobby Drake/Iceman. It's Aaron Stanford who plays John Allerdyce/Pyro.

Gotcha. I thought he would make a good Warren. Iceman's supposed to be the class clown... they made him too serious in this series (although I don't mind because it was a dope reinvisioning of the character). I find it somewhat ironic that they gave a goofy guy like Marsden such a hard-ass character and then gave their goofy character a serious role.
