Recommended Comedy albums.......

I know you've already stated Richard Pryor... but it depends on if you're talking about Richard Pryor sober or when he was high. Because if you're talking about pre-sober RP... then you're golden.

I don't know if he has an album but get some Zach Galifianakis

Leary, as I understand it, is accused of stealing Hicks' presentation. I don't know if he's also accused of stealing jokes from Hicks, but I wouldn't be surprised.

While you can definately take "No Cure for Cancer" away from him due to stealing from Hicks, "Lock n' Load" appears to be his own and is one of my favourites.

My recommend list consists of the obivous choices,

George Carlin
Bill Hicks
David Cross
Chris Rock
Dave Chappelle

And then:

Dave Attell
Daniel Tosh
Stephen Lynch
Tim Minchin - I wouldn't say he's as funny as Lynch, but he could be more poetic.

I will say I do like Dane Cook, he makes me laugh. For everyday life, he's quite funny. If you want to laugh while having your opinions challenged, in an all together through provoking and maybe even life changing hour of comedy, he's not the one to go to.

denis leary

how no one has suggested him yet is criminal

Because he stole Hicks act and his whole persona.

"I have a scoop for you. I stole his act. I camouflaged it with punchlines, and to really throw people off, I did it before he did" -Bill Hicks

I also liked Dane Cooks jokes when Louis CK told them. People should understand why Comedians and fans of comedy get pissed off when someone steals a joke. Do you know how hard it is to come up with a well crafted joke? Why I like and respect what Joe Rogan is doing. All though a lot of comedians expose joke thiefs.

I commend Rogan for exposing joke stealers, but he's still not funny. The funniest thing he did was News Radio, and he was the weakest link in the cast. Okay, no, that unfunny bastard Andy Dick was the weakest link. But Rogan wasn't that much better.

Denis f'n Leary
What do the five fingers say to the face? Dave Chappelle! Byatch!

Mitch Hedburg who hs already been mentioned. You could try Nick Swardson . Also Jim Breuer .

Yeah I actually have Party by Nick Swarsdon, he's pretty funny. Demetri Martin is hilarious too but you have to usually watch his act as it's visual.

BWAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!!! :woot:

I was just about to recommend him!

I love that skit, it's awesome.

"Pillow vs. Pillow, Crazy Awesome." HAHAHA

Glad you liked Jeff Dunham, I think he is a really great stand up.

You MUST get Mitch Hedberg's CD's. Watch the second vid in my sig.

I like Dave Chappelle's one joke about commercials...

"Is it just me, or do commercials now days just not make any sense? I don't even know what the commercials for until the end of it! Like I saw this one commercial the other day where this woman comes up and she's got a black eye... and she's cryin'... and then she says

I. Smoke. Crack. And my husband beats me!

And she's cryin' some more and then a voice comes and says... "Got Milk?"

Now I'm no commercial expert, but I think I could make a better commercial than THAT."

And if you're looking for something offbeat, I suggest Brian Posehn or Dov Davidoff

Apart from the odd smile, Mitch pretty much never made me laugh.

I usually hate one liner comedians, I recently listened to Steven Wright and laughed all the way through. Much, much better than Hedberg.

His first HBO show was brilliant (must've been the drugs). Since then he's become intolerable.

I like him, did you see him on inside the actor's studio? That was some pretty good stuff and a lot of it he made up on the spot. Well he may have been thinking about it before hand since I am sure Lipton shows his guests questions before the show but it's not like everything came from his acts.

The end where he talks about the kids from silicon valley is great

Does anyone know the name of the comedian that has a very slow delivery style and his jokes are not right out obvious punchlines? He has mid lenngth dirty blonde type hair and wears circle rimmed glasses?

Yes, I actually did see part of that show. I didn't watch the whole thing b/c I can only take his schtick for about 5-10 minutes before having a seizure. :cwink:

All the same, if you can track down his very first HBO special that he did back in his Mork & Mindy days, I think you'll really dig it. He was about as manic 30 years ago as he is today but a bit more offbeat and very, very funny.

Perhaps the man in the 2nd vid in my sig?
