So what was 80 days like? I realise it'll have very little to do with the book, but it looks like a fun way to kill a couple of hours.

I just got here too, finally come up for air. After selling a treatment for a new script (mentioned it earlier this week) I spent today writing my little brains out, trying to get it done.
Got 34 pages and 6,384 words done today since 930am. Congratulate me someone.

I think he meant me with Farenheit 9/11 johnson.

I'm not complaining - 34 pages in one day is a personal record for me. I'm quick when I get involved in something, but damn...
BTW, if I get Shadowlands finished by the end of the week I'm going to be all systems go on my sequel to Superman - Firestorm, this time with some help from DantheX-fan. He's helping me write the action scenes - which are NOT my strongest suit.
hey, I missed your casting choices before. . .who was your pick for clark in Firestorm? cause I keep picturing welling. . .Originally posted by Iphus
Can't wait to write it. It's a much stronger story than Firestorm, largely because I don't have to introduce anything and can just get on with it.

I wasn't thinking of anyone really - I try not to write with actors in mind because if I do that, I write charactaure and not character.
That being said...
Clark Kent/Superman - an unknown (around 25)
Lex Luthor: Kevin Spacey/Tom Hanks/Nic Cage
Lois Lane: Jennifer Garner
Jimmy Olsen: Tom Lenk
Jonathan Kent: Bruce Greenwood
Martha Kent: Susan Sarandon or Annett Benning
Corben: Jason Statham
Jor-El: William Hurt
Joanna: Kiera Knightly or Lisa Faulkner
Peter Lynch: Brendan Gleeson or James Nesbitt.

just read that some woman in america has won $294m (£158m)

Does she get it all at once or so much every year?
Especially because you know it.Originally posted by Iphus
And why not? I'm a lucky man.
You have the choice of either taking a lower sum all at once or getting the full amount paid to you over 20 years I believe....keep in mind of course that the government will take about half of it in taxes though.Originally posted by johnsonuk

Yeah...but in differing ways....if I win 200 mil and except it as a lump sum the govt would take somewhere between 40 and 50 %off the top....I would get basically 100 million. If I chose the payments where I would get say 10 mil a year for 20 years, the gvmt would take about 5 mil a year for the next 20 years. Most people take the lump sum because you only have to take the tax hit once and you get all the money up front.Originally posted by johnsonuk
they take half in taxes,no matter which way you accept it?
