I'll do one better! here we go! And I swear, since coming to the hype I've grown much more critical of films. . ..geez. . .you guys suck!

Okay, bottom line: if you're gonna see it in theaters, catch a matinee. It WAS fun, interesting to watch, the art direction was just okay. . .not what I expected.

Overall the movie felt much smaller than I thought it ought to. I was expecting big huge epic. . and it just didn't deliver on that front. Clive was really good I thought. . .very heroic. The other Knights were even really cool. I liked the group. For how much they push Kiera being in it, she maybe had 20 minutes of screen time. . . not much. I found the battles a little hard to follow since it was pretty choppy, and all the guys were wearing the same armor, had similar beards. . . There were a couple knights they showed and it took me a second to realize who was who. Merlin was. . .a joke. I liked the whole "taking the magic out" approach, but merlin should have at least sounded like a commanding man. . . a sort of leader of men, or at the very least a wise old sage. He was neither. The guy's voice drove me batty! It was really bad. And the leader of the Saxons was decidedly 2-dimensional. He also had a son that looked like he should be singing lead for a new heavy metal band. . .not fighting a war over britain.

That's mostly it. . .lots of little gripes, and many of them with the art direction. I'm glad I didn't see it full price. And they DID butcher the legend pretty well. . .but then, it wasn't about the legend, so I gave them that. It could wait for video if it had to.

ok J. questions for you.Would clive owen make a good bond?i know it is a different type of film but does he have that presence on the big screen.I have never seen him at the cinema so i have no idea,he also looks to me like he has filled out.also what was that hugh dancy like who was supposedly up for batman?

actually, he would. I kept thinking Owen would be a good choice for Supes(that's where my mind is always at these days), but he would actually make a really interesting bond. A little different though. . .slightly less debonaire, slightly more rugged. A little battle hardened Bond perhaps, but still a good one.

And Hugh Dancy's part isn't really that big, but I thought he was good. Not really enough to judge by.

i can totally understand the supes remark i actually suggested him for jor-el.but from what you just said about OWEN sounds like what they said about CONNERY.and did he look like he had filled out?

hard to tell. . he had armor on the WHOLE movie practically. he had a miserably bad love scene with kiera that felt REALLY forced, and all it really showed of him in that was his back. at an angle. So I couldn't tell. With enough armor, you can fill anyone out

Nope. This is gonna take some time. I want to do it right. I can't believe how much I am suddenly missing it though! I can't wait to have the freedom again. I had stopped because my ex had this crazy idea that I owed it to him to "stay alive." But now I am free, free, free! (hee) I want something slick, something sleek.
