The Dark Knight Report from TDK’s August 19th Shoot

It was around 8:50 am Sunday 8/19 on the corner of west Monroe street and south Canal street. Block away from Union Station. Looked to be round 30 extras. Never did see any lead characters. The security exclaimed “pictures up,” and the extras began to walk around as random people on the street. I think they were filming inside the building or just on the corner. Not sure what building it is. Anyway, the people were just walking around then I heard two gunshots and extras began to run everywhere. What’s more is I did hear a loud sinister laugh, which was without a doubt in my mind, the Joker ala Heath Ledger.




Alright, so I went back down to the set in the pouring rain and got some pics. Due to the rain they stopped shooting so all of the extras were sitting around the lobby of the building… which is now the GCN, which I am guessing is “Gotham City News” or “Gotham Cable News” (though I favor the first). I was able to walk right up the building and started taking photos. There were a lot of PA’s and Extras around but they didn’t seem to mind me too much. I got some courage and walked right into the lobby. Inside it was dressed as a TV station with GCN and tv screens all over the place. I didn’t stay too long and didn’t snap any pics for fear of being caught. It was cool to see though. Also saw the official set photographer who looked a bit bummed…maybe because of the pic leak.

That would be extremely cool and interesting. The Joker on national television? They could be taking a hint from 89'.

HMM Joker did broadcast over the radio in his first appearance, maybe it'll be similar but updated ala television.

Also saw the official set photographer who looked a bit bummed…maybe because of the pic leak.

That would definetely be related to that film as soon as it was seen. Joker on national television, saying his speech to Gotham is good enough.

An homage to V is always good. It's a great movie.

That movie was an excuse for bad writing and even worse political slander.

The film had me wondering why it was slamming so much. They hated their own goverment, weeping about it, and then they were almost taking a shot at our own president. Interesting. The film eliminated all seriousness when it came to the prison and the secret note. Lest for me.

I especially think that the prison and secret note were the best part of the movie, poltically.
And they weren't taking shots at people, but at political situations and ideas that are already or are becoming real. This comic book, although not exactly the same, has existed since 1984 (or 1986?) and like V, it represents or bashes ideas, and not particular governments or people.

Not to mention one of the WORST adaptations EVER! I'm sure Alan Moore is rolling in his grave.... wait... what's that you say... he's not dead... he just likes to act like he's dead... oh my bad.

Back on subject, Joker according to WW viewers does in fact make something that looks like a broadcast... anyway, several extras reported they did do more filming that day and the only stars on hand were Anthony Michael Hall and Gary Oldman.

yeah... he was wearing a almost purple dark blue suit with pin strips... pretty bright colors... like a tv host... but I'm confused on is Mike Engel a tv host or radio host - cause things seem a little mixed on the subject.

Granted it would be pretty standard for him to be most, almost all CNN, FOX news and CNBC anchors also have radio programs these days.

In the AMH thread we posted up two different links to people who were extras-- several of us even harassed them to try and find out who Hall was but alas they all fall back on their extra confidentiality contracts.

Plus there were some other extras from other sources speaking in regards to it... I don't remember if anyone linked those, but they were other Batman sites. The thread hasn't been that active sense, you can probably go back and find the stuff pretty easy.

There is a group of us who seem to be most adamant about finding out who Hall is. I, at the moment, consider Mysterio to be the foremost expert on all actual confirmed information.
