Resident Evil: Extinction

Just cause they didn't amke it like the games doesn't make them crap. I mean who in the theater wants to sit and watch a first person movie only, walking through hallways and then a zombie or two popping out of now where. Action and character complexs is where it is at.

The first RE movie was good it started the movies for one of the greatest games in VG history. The Second was freakin sweet and both movies kept you wondering at the end, and guessing what will happen in the next movie.

If you just compare the VG and the Movie in a simple Nomadic way you just need to open your eyes.

No, what makes them crap is the fact that they're crap movies. Simple. Bad writing, direction, dialogue, and laughably cliched action. Not even a good action movie either.

And no one said they had to film the movie like a video game to make it good; they just had to try and get it close to source. As someone said, if they can adapt comic book movies adequately, it is possible to do the same with video games. No one takes the material seriously or really tries to adapt it respectfully.

And btw, RE isn't a first person video game. :whatever:

i don't feel like reading all of romero's script, but what were the changes? i honestly can't see a faithful adaptation of the first game working... "um... we're stuck in a house, because there're dogs outside, there're giant snakes, spiders, and plants, and um... yeah"

don't get me wrong, it works okay for the game, but c'mon, changes needed to be made, and i think they work for the first movie... i agree the second movie was complete butt though.

Yet somehow, they thought it'd work for the piece of crap we got.

So, you're telling me that the change of characters was needed? Most deffiantly not. The addition of the 'Red Queen' AI? Nope.

One thing i found about the game is that it was a simple horror game, but also a cloak and dagger, conspiracy story too. Like RE 1 (the game) was part of a bigger story. It could have had an enemy in the shadows, making it harder to escape the mansion, and trying to kill them. That enemy would be Albert Wesker.

They could easily remain faithful to the game. You wouldn't have to kill the bravo team from the start. But gradually. Also, you give added character depth to everyone, and really play on the hatred Wesker has for Chris Redfield.

Quite Frankly, they should get a real good director, re-start the franchise, like Batman Begins, and base a movie on the first Resident Evil game, that would be awesome.

I'm shocked at the people who think these are good movies. Everyone has a right to an opinion, and my opinion is these are bastard action movies made to give some kind of power bj to Milla.:cmad::csad:

I liked both RE movies. From what I'm reading throughout this thread is that the people who hate the movies are big fans of the video games and the people who like the film aren't big fans of the video game.

Well i'm a big fan of the games, but I also like the first Resident Evil movie. I wasn't to impressed with the sequel, however.

Here's how the story of RE should've been done in film:

RE1- The introduction of Chris Redfield, Jill Valentine, Wesker, and the mansion.

RE2- Jill returning to Raccoon City being hunted by Nemesis. The reason why this story needed to be in RE 2 is because RE3(the game) takes place before Leon/Claire come to Raccoon City.

RE3- Leon, Claire, Ada, and Birkin come into the picture.

RE4- Leon's story becoming an FBI Agent.

The Resident Evil stories have so much potential and I find it to be a sin that Anderson has ruined them the way he did. Hopefully somewhere down the line a restart happens which will signal better films.

See what you got there, I would have liked to see that not what we got.

**** it. Make Resident Evil 4 EXACTLY the way it is.....only put it onscreen.

I came in here to say this. While playing Resident Evil 4 it felt so much like an interactive horror film. That movie would be gold if it was adapted straight from the game.

They should do it. It would own. I mean....****....I still haven't beaten the game yet. My PS2 keeps turning off out of sheer fear. Damn sissy.

I'll beat it soon though. I'll beat it hard.

Mind if I ask what part of RE4 are you on? I've beaten it, but the one level that gets to me is when the Regenerators first appear.

Their breathing and the music had me on edge during that entire time.

I think if they ever did RE 4 the right way it could possibly be the scariest horror/action film in cinema history. The Novistadors, The Knights, The Regenerators, and the Garradors would put fear into all of the audience who experienced it in film form.

Have you ever been caught off guard by a zealots laugh? Then out of nowhere one just happens to slash you? I remember hearing the laugh and jumped after being attacked.

That's a fair comment.

But in my own defence, and i'm sure this can apply to many more here, I don't like the films even as films of their own. Take the title away from the films and I would still think that they're poor.

There are some similarities to the games. The Mansion, the city, Umbrella, the virus and of course, that terribly cheesey Nemesis monster.

For me, the games had much more depth to them. The characters could have been translated to film wonderfully. I don't understand why they felt the need to change the entire cast of characters, and bring some in as support roles. Also, IMO, the stories are weak as.

TRAILER WITH GHOSTRIDER!!
By the way, "Resident Evil" franchise fans will also be pleased to hear that the trailer for "Resident Evil: Extinction" will premiere with Ghost Rider in February.
YES!.....

but do they mean trailer or teaser?........

it would be nice to get a teaser before then...

RE2 had one of the coolest teasers ever

I hope this is a zombie movie, and not an Alice with super powers movie.

I would've love to see that.

This is a flim I won't go see. Was not impressed at all with RE, and I just gave up when I saw the Godzilla-Suited Nemesis in the sequel. Man, did he look fake!

Well I guess I should weigh in then. I have never really played any of the RE games and I didn't really care for the first film. Granted by the time I saw the movie, I developed a strong hatred of Paul Anderson for ruining AVP. To me RE was barely above AVP.

Im sketchy about this third film. I love the first RE but the 2nd was only so-so for me. I played the games and yeah the difference between the films and the games are there but I dont really mind them.
