Yeah, all those zombies in the first film with the chunks missing from their faces and empty eye sockets and stuff really looked like drunks. Hell, let's talk about Romero's zombies, they're just BLUE, that's all!

Well, what I remember...was that you never saw the zombies properly. It was all blurred and looked pretty awful, to be honest.

You definitely wanna go back and check out the first movie again. You'll definitely be seeing plenty of proper zombies in that one... lots of loving shots of the dude with the broken leg, the one with his face scraped off, the guy with half a missing face and such... I don't remember if we see as much focus on them in the second though.

Actually, there's a lot of doubt of that. He was not in any way controlled by the Illuminados, and he didn't show any of the symptoms of someone who's infected with Plagas. One of the more popular theories amongst fans is that he has a modified version of the T-Veronica virus. The T-Veronica virus, when properly implemented, allows the host to modify their cellular makeup at will. It's possible that Wesker injected him with a concoction that had a component derived from the T-Veronica virus, amongst other things. It's pretty much agreed on though that he is not a Plaga carrier.

It does! And thank god, that makes me happy. The RE1 score was fantastic, one of the things that really gave the movie more of a tech-horror feel.

Anyway, I agree with the guy who suggested Bill Pullman as Barry in REboot. He's a great actor, and these days he really does look like the spitting image of Barry, minus the beard.

yea it perked my interest in the movie just a bit more, after watching "city of the dead" any zombie movie looks great right now.

Kudos for that RE cast, because it is probably the best fan casting that I've ever seen.

Pretty good cast, although I have a few little nitpicks. Kelly Hu is too old to play Ada (she's in her 20's in RE2, and Kelly Hu is in her 40s), Mary E. Winstead is a bit too busty to play Rebecca IMO, and Vincent Kartheiser doesn't really look like Steve. Steve was actually designed after Leonardo DiCaprio, and there's even a little joke about that in the Code Veronica novelization. Other than that, it looks like a very solid cast.

This movie franchise was ruined by 3 significant things imo.

1. The screenwriter is Paul Anderson (AVP)
2. Chris Redfield and Leon Kennedy are not in any of the movies.
3. Alice (some superhuman chick Paul Anderson thought up) is the hero
4. The first 2 movies arent even a little scary. Go play the first or second Resident Evil on Gamecube at night and I gaurantee you'll get spooked several times.

Sudden loud noises aren't really "scary," just "startling." So uh, yeah, I didn't really find the REmake to be "scary."

Maybe scary wasnt the right word. Still though, it was creepier than ANY of the newer horror movies. Cant say the same for RE3-RE4 though.

4) Agreed! The Resident Evil games themselves are actually scary and genuinely frightening (Especially the REmake), unlike the movies. But i've played these games so many times, i've become used to them.

I liked the first Resident Evil movie, the second one was underwhelming. But to me, it didn't feel like Resident Evil, they felt like Matrix meets Night of the Living Dead.

They really dropped the ball with this franchise, time for a reboot.
