Horror Resident Evil Reboot

Been waiting for this reattempt since 2001. And I've been wanting Alexandra Daddario for Jill Valentine for quite a while.

I’ve been waiting for this reboot since the first film. This franchise deserved better and went on for way, WAY too long.

We are in active development of that at the moment. I pitched them a take, and they really loved it. So, we are just gearing up on that as we speak, really. I’m in the office all the time there. So, yeah, it’s great. It’s gonna be super scary. It’s super, super scary. And it’s just getting back to the roots of the game. I think, at the moment, I’m not really allowed to say much more than that. But it’s gonna be a lot of fun.

New Resident Evil Movie In Development

I would be excited if the first film is gonna be adaptation of the 1st game and it would lead to Re2/Re3/Recv... I wouldn't mind a movie based on Re0 as well. Especially with the recent remake of re2 (and soon re3) and with Capcom's constant rereleases of re1remake and re0, they should finally do a live action film adaptation of those classic titles.

If there was ever a video game that should've translated well to film, this franchise was it. They just got to big and weird in later iterations.

Stay in Raccoon City with everyone for a while this time. Build up Umbrella corp. Focus on the breach. Chris Redfield and Jill Valentine's story from the first one offers a lot of material to draw on. Honestly they could mostly take the story lines and sequences from the games (maybe not 3) and make them work if the production teams just honor the source material and act somewhat as fans.

The story is set on in a fateful night in Raccoon City in 1998; the fictional mid-western town is known in Evil lore as the center of a virus outbreak that destroys it and forever changes the country.

The movie will also feature characters that are central to the underlying Evil mythology. Scoledario will play Claire Redfield, who would eventually go on to become a major character in the games but in the origin is a woman heading into Raccoon City to visit her brother, Chris Redfield, being played by Amell.

John-Kamen is Jill Valentine, a member of an elite division within the city’s police department known as Special Tactics and Rescue Services. Hopper is researcher Albert Wesker, a duplicitous man serving the Umbrella Corporation’s dangerous mutant bio research while hiding his belief that mass extinction is what humanity needs.

Jogia (Zombieland: Double Tap) is Leon Kennedy, a federal counterterrorist agent while McDonough (Yellowstone) is William Birkin, a virologist who turns ultimately turns against the Umbrella Corporation but in the process poses an even greater threat to the town.

“With this movie, I really wanted to go back to the original first two games and creates the terrifying visceral experience I had when I first played them whilst at the same time, telling a grounded human story about a small dying American town that feel both relatable and relevant to today’s audiences, said Roberts in a statement.

I wish they'd translated 1 and 2 especially. I remember on PS1 being amazed by RE1 and thinking they should make this into a movie (obviously adapting it as needed for cinematic purposes).

They could turn Resident 0 to CV for a 22 episode event series! Each game gets at least three 44min episodes.

While re4 to 6 are already divided into chapters, which could serve as layouts for the entire second season. Re7 isn't that long either and could be a 3 part episode.

I'm guessing they're Jill and Chris respectively.

While I am happy it looks like they’re adhering more to the video game roots....i still have a feeling theyre gonna screw is up and veer off in their own weird direction again.

Like you guys have said, this franchise so is so easily translatable to film. All of the groundwork for these films is already laid out in the games, they just need to cast good people and adapt it.

Personally, I would have switched Hopper and Amell's casting. Hopper feels a better fit for Chris, while I think Amell would do well as Wesker. Jogia has the hair for Leon.

Always happy to see John-Kamen's star rise.

Shirtless Chris punching a boulder or we riot.

Not a fan of the director honestly, but I hope for the best.

This is funny:

Nice. I missed this before. They certainly could have cast a worse bunch. Hopefully we hear more good things from here on out and at least something to get excited about.

Edit: I meant to quote your other earlier tweet but it’s too much work to switch them from mobile lol.

The casting doesn't eXcite me but I'll binge watch it anyway.

Same producers as the old films. I don't have high hopes.
Damn

Pretty good cast though. But it seems that they are cramming the first and second game into one movie, which I think it a dumb idea

Rather have a series to flesh out the story better. Have the first season be an adaption of the 1st game, second season focus on the 2nd game, etc.

I don’t trust anyone involved in the making of this film but at least they’re doing what the Netflix series should be doing and using characters and plots from the games rather than whatever the frick the prior movies did.

Well, Leon is being played by the hipster musician from Zombieland 2...so I'm not so sure.
