Gotcha, yeah I don't know, it sounds like hes just a huge fan boy or something? But I mean a couple of other people were saying Resistance could be sweet so its not just him.

As Resisitance comes closer, I have no doubt that it will be a good game.. I don't think it will be close to as good as Gears will be, but I think it'll be good none the less and that you'll be a very happy lizard. That being said, I wouldn't take Luke's word on anything. He'd take dog **** over prime rib just to be different then everyone else and cause a commotion.

I just hope it lives up to the hype that i'm giving it. But thanks, I hope Gears of War is what you all are wanting it to be and that it doesn't disappoint you guys and that you love it.

Well, I just got back and its past midnight I have to be up at 5 to drive to Melbourne for the transplant clinic at 8 I will be in Melbourne for a few days but will hit an internet cafe tomorrow morning to post a full review.

For now here are some quickies...

MENTOK LIKES...

GRAPHICS - Its a very good looking game. Everything works well and 'fits'. It would have been better if the designs were better, the framerate was a little higher (its pretty solid though) and the texture work was improved.

GAMEPLAY - Basically its HALF-LIFE 2 + HALO... and thats not a bad thing either. Its nothing new or innovative but it works and it works well.

WEAPONS - All pretty nice.

AI - I was outflanked a few times... Nothing new but its always nice to be outsmarted by a computer now and then

MENTOK HATES -

CONTROLS - Not the best (probably mostly due to the SIXAXIS design). Button placement seems wrong. The biggest problem is the lack of any auto aim function. Seriously, you need to when playing with a gonsole controller (especially the PS3's) I lost count of the times I was just shooting BESIDE someones head annd not at it.

GRAPHICS - While good for the most part the design is not that great and with some bad texture issues.

AI - I am not sure what difficulty level I was on but the AI was hardly as amazing as SONY have claimed.


On the first few levels I played I am giving RESISTANCE a pretty solid 8/10.

For all the bad said about Reisistance, that's a pretty good review. Pretty much what I expected. Good game, but doesn't really do anything new.

Thanks Mentok for the review, I feel that your review is pretty much what i'm expecting now. I think Resistance will only get a 8/10. May I ask what level did you play?

Oh and you know what I think Gears of War and Resistance: Fall of Man will be pretty damn close now from all of the reviews I've been hearing on Gears of War.
