I just realised something.... After months of talk of RESISTANCE being these huge battles with huge numbers of onscreen characters all fighting it out....

Why have I seen no more than 5 or 6 people on any screenshot or footage?

I had already said how Chaos Theory on the Xbox had much better lighting than Resistance. If only Liz stopped whacking off to Resistance, he wouldn't have been so blind to realize that his favorite game isn't nowhere near as beautiful as he think it is. "Better graphics than Gears of War" my ass. :

The xbox fanboys are slamming this game left and right in this thread. What they mean is that that this game is not god enough graphically to be next gen.

Okay tonight is the night I’ve been waiting for, I can't wait for some more Resistance information.

Dude this game is going to be awesome, and THWIP I’m sorry but I slightly disagree with your statement on intelligence in video games.

Dude seriously Gears of War is just stupid brute force with their aliens. Where in Resistance they are intelligent, they will flank you, they will separate you from the group, they will sneak up on you, they will throw grenades back, they will take cover, they will fire at you when you are reloading, they will leap from wall to wall, they kamikaze you, they will shoot a mine to blow it up or they will run away from the mine and get some distance and take a detour. Also they react to your flash light in some way which that was only able to be done on the computer.

Anyways with all that a side Resistance's A.I. easily surpasses Gears of War. When I was watching the video I was like OMG this game has awesome A.I. and then I realized I spoke to soon.

The Locust horde is the reason we have the word ******. I mean they were smart while taking cover, however all of a sudden they will just decide to get up out of there cover at a random point. WHY WOULDN"T YOU STAY BEHIND THE WALL? They then will take the leap of faith and will go walking slowly across the room to get to the other side. I'm shooting at them *figuratively* and they are being dumb and just taking the bullets, I mean they should be smart and take small advancements not these huge leaps of faith like they are doing.

Also when you throw a grenade they don't jump out of the way, they don't throw it back at you, they don't run away they stand there like the Coyote and saying "Help".

Personally I don't think graphics are important at all if you have to sacrifice all of that, but that’s just my opinion.

First of all, all that stuff that the Resistance AI is going to do, is nothing new....I can think of like 5 games for this gen that will do everything you mentioned, if not more.

And second, if you think that someone like CliffyB and Epic are going to let their amazing, AAA beast of a game get released with dumb AI, you seriously have issues....I mean, you know it's NOT going to happen. We all do.

Bashing GoW will not make Resistance better, but I understand why you do it....but going as far as to say that GoW's AI is "just stupid brute force" without reading anything about it.....I'm sorry, that's just kind of ******ed.

Resistance will probably be a good game, hell I'll check it out whenever I get a ps3, but seriously....it's time to stop with the daydreaming.

I just watched the Gears of War demo again today and there were a couple of moments where the A.I seemed pretty smart to me. Like this one instance where the player takes cover in front of a pillar, behind which is this Locust horde guy. And as soon as Cliffy pops out of cover to his left to shoot him, he isn't there anymore and instead, this Locust guy flanks him from his blindside. There was another moment I noticed when two of the Locust horde are on the opposite sides of the room (the part where they blow the doors and storm in) and they are working in a way that lets one of them (who is not being shot at) shoot the player whenever you pop out out of cover to take a few shots of your own. But since it seemed like Cliffy was playing in "God mode" was the reason why we didn't get to see the consequences of his screwups.

Oh and the only "proof" I've seen of Resistance's "incredibly smart A.I" was your baseless banter, Lizzy. And that's hardly reliable considering the hots you have for this game. I'll believe Resistance has smarter A.I when I see it.

And let's not forget this is EPIC we're talking about. If any of you have played UT2004, you know that these are the guys responsible for the smartest multiplayer bot A.I in the business right now. Thinking that they'll let their biggest game in years to have "dumb brutes" is really pushing the limits of logical fallacy.

If anyone saw the MTV special, you know there is a guy from MS working there whose job is literally to complain about the AI and say it sucks, so from every conceivable angle, they'll have GoW's AI covered.
