The Dark Knight Rises Ridiculous Rumors are SO annoying....

What gets me is that the people who report this stuff as "news" usually learn of it's inaccuracy, and never issue any kind of retraction.

I heard victor fries was going to be played by Patrick Stewart.

I feel your pain Greg, one of my local news networks "reported" this Cher rumor. The two anchors sounded so confident in the rumor, in fact they didn't even report it as a rumor. They said and I quote "Cher has signed on to play Catwoman in the next Batman movie after talking to Chris Nolan...that's the director of the Batman movie that's out now." They even said that it was an "interesting choice" but "they could see it."
Then the two anchors went on and talked about how "Johnny Depp IS going to play the Riddler."

The funny thing is this is the same news station and the same two anchors that talked about how "Jessica Biel IS going to play Wonder Woman in the new Justice League movie." :lmao: A lot of times I watch this news station just to get a good laugh out of their BS reporting, but this time I wanted to punch them in the face. :cmad:

That's nothing. The host of the local morning AM radio show in my area had a contest last year where to enter, you had to go to the website and put in the name of the actor playing The Joker in TDK. They even made it easy by playing the audio from the trailer during the show, and offering a hint that I found to be very odd (more on that later). When they got back from the commercial break, the enthusiastic host told the audience the actor's name:

Michael Keaton.

The "hint" that I found so odd, was the following: "He's an actor who actually played Batman in the past, but said that he was always more interested in playing the Joker." When he said that the answer was Michael Keaton, I thought "how is anyone supposed to win this contest if to enter, they have to answer a question incorrectly?" :whatever:

BTW, he got fired a few months later. I don't think it was related, but my mom was disappointed since she listened to his show a lot.

I wonder if he said "Micheal Keaton" with a straight face or not. You can't tell because it's radio. But he knew... he knew.

Right? :csad:

If you click on the link in my sig, you will see my amateurish manip of Cher as Catwoman - it's hysterical! Seriously, Cher looks more like a horse than a cat and, when she had her blonde hair, she reminded me of an Afghan hound. Feline she ain't!

Does Cher have anything to say about this?

I heard victor fries was going to be played by Patrick Stewart.

that´s heresy! just for the sake of the allmighty otto preminger and his disciple arnold schwarzenegger, victor fries has to be played by no other than one of austrias fine thespians!:whatever:
that´s why karl markovics (the counterfeiters) will be mr. freeze in 2011!

:hehe:

Anybody else get annoyed by this?

Often, I feel that people are trying to promote themselves or their clients by getting word out about their interests in the part.

On a different note: I don't think Nolan should let Hoffman, Depp, or anyone like them anywhere near the sequel. We want an incredible thespian, but not an over-exposed one.

Still, with no script and at least 1 and 1/2 years to go before the principal photography, all of the banter is a bit useless and redundant.

I heard the same thing yesterday,

That Johnny Depp was confirmed for Riddler, and that Phillip Semor Hoffman was confirmed for Penguin.

So thats not true?

Depp and PSH are possible to cast in Batman 3, with Cher as Catwoman rumour is stupid or anyone to think that.

They have all denied it.

Gosh, they havent even started writing it yet.

i dont think nolan cares what about a persons fame, i think he's more concerned on how well they can portray the character

Yeah... SO annoying.

I don´t want Depp, Jolie, Cher, or Cuthbert in the franchise.
I don´t want Catwoman in the franchise.
I don´t want... Well, that´s enough.

If Depp was in the franchise, and the movie was as good as the Batman Returns was, that would elevate the comic book movies to a higher spot than just a cool summer thing that an actor does. It seems like if you are a popular actor you eventually do one superhero movie.
(I know thats not always the case with most superhero movies, it just seems that way.)

At first all the rumors were just annoying...now, when I hear ignorant people saying its all "confirmed," I actually get angry.

Considering there is nothing even close to confirmed...

Just thinking about Cher as Selina Kyle making out with Bale's Bruce Wayne makes me queesy, that's why I hate when radio DJ's who have no involvement with the movie biz start making stupid rumors.

And now supposedly the long though dead in the water project of Justice League is now back on track with an unknown Armie Hammer as Batman.
http://www.imdb.com/name/nm2309517/

I really don't start believing the rumors until actual photos of the actors in costume are shown.
