Riots in Missouri - Part 1

I don't know what white people are scared for. Everyone knows the rioters will be restricted to poor, black neighborhoods by the police.

Wasn't Brown found out to have just robbed a store, witness reports and an autopsy confirm a scuffle between the officer and Brown leading to Brown's death?

Is that what people riot over nowadays? I have an idea. Let's say a white cop killed an unarmed innocent family loving teenager to make sure everyone gets the right message. LOOT! Free TV's!

Looters are idiots. No argument there. But cops have been known to let rioters go unchallenged until they come close to white neighborhoods.

And even educated college kids riot and destroy their own campus.

Because they lost/won a ball game. :whatever:

This idea that you put a state in a state of emergency because of a court ruling really is insane.

I never realized how segregated St. Louis was. Holy crap. It's like Alabama in the 1960's.

Very much like Alabama in the 1960's...The city has far more of a history leading up to this than most in the media have clued in to....

Does they contradict my point? No. You just illustrated more idiots.

Brown did rob a store, but there was no physical evidence to suggest that there was a physical altercation between Brown and Wilson, the eyewitness reports say that Brown was attempting to surrender peacefully when he was shot, and it has been confirmed that Wilson had no knowledge of the robbery at the time of the shooting.

1: Why does the victim of violence need to be perfect for people to care?

2: Looting has been an incredibly small part of this whole thing.

There is a great documentary called Spanish Lake that had a sneak peek in St Louis, but was barred in St Louis. It's about a community in North St. Louis and it's de-gentrification over the years. I think it's going to be released officially again soon. Here's a trailer:

1) Who are you referring to?

2) I'm not seeing the irony. Does a bigot have to like either Muslims or White Supremacist in order to not be a hypocrite? Why?

Something I saw on liveleak. Both parties are either in critical care or prison. I find it ironic that a racist would declare war against another racist group, citing their racism as the rationale.

That's what I heard

http://www.huffingtonpost.com/2014/10/22/michael-brown-autopsy-report_n_6027800.html

experts not involved in the investigation told the Post-Dispatch that the autopsy suggests a struggle at close range:

The St. Louis medical examiner, Dr. Michael Graham, who is not part of the official investigation, reviewed the autopsy report for the newspaper. He said Tuesday that it “does support that there was a significant altercation at the car.”
Graham said the examination indicated a shot traveled from the tip of Brown’s right thumb toward his wrist. The official report notes an absence of stippling, powder burns around a wound that indicate a shot fired at relatively short range.
But Graham said, “Sometimes when it’s really close, such as within an inch or so, there is no stipple, just smoke.”

It's from the Huffington post though. So take it with a grain of salt.

What does the autopsy say about Brown having his hands raised?

Because everything before that shouldn't matter if he was surrendering.

People ***** about big brother, but we do need cameras all over in these instances. Too much conjecture.

Everything I've seen about that says the autopsy was inconclusive in that aspect and couldn't determine whether he had his hands up or not.

Have we actually seen the OFFICIAL AUTOPSY, or has all of that come from the families doctor that checked the autopsy?

I honestly haven't been following this all that closely, so real question....???

There was. I recall that it strongly suggested being shot at close range, as in a struggle.

I don't want cameras everywhere but cop cars should have a 360 degree camera shot in HD and it must be protocol to turn them on when confronting someone. And if they fail they get desk duty or a strike against them. too many strikes and they are fired. I mean it is hard to believe the cop car didn't recorded anything useful.

Supposedly the Ferguson Police Department actually has had dash cams for awhile now(or personal officer cams, I can't remember which)but they just hadn't gotten around to installing them yet.

Cops should be required to wear body cameras at all times.

No more "he said, she said" nonsense. Whatever the cop sees, we see.

Every complaint and accusation of police abuse verified or disproved with video evidence.

In this California city use of force declined 60% once body cameras were introduced.

Police Departments not issuing body cameras to all its officers is a financial decision, that's all. It's not some conspiracy or some mad scheme to keep crooked cops on the streets. Up until now, there hasn't been enough public outcry to justify the costs of body cams for all officers. Now, the public outcry is making departments reconsider and get on the ball with body cams. But it's costly and takes time. Departments are going to want to find vendors who offer the best product for the cheapest price. Departments will shop around and then in order to prevent mishaps the cameras will have to be tested on a select few officers to work out the kinks or technical issues.

A small police department of 50 officers can get body cams on all their officers within six months...

but a HUGE department, like NYPD... oh it will take years.

If I were the one in charge of the police budget....I would make room for body cameras, NOT to keep police officers honest, but to keep them safe from misinformation. IMO, that justifies the cost.
