Riots in Missouri - Part 1

So when everyone who might have a problem can band together. A bad idea imo.

Would you rather they riot when kids are on the way to school or on their way home? Or when people are trying to get home, and presenting themselves as potential targets for the people pretending to be protesters?

When did they say that? While Anderson Cooper was on?
I am not sure who is who. But it was the taller white gentleman with Don Lemon. They have talked about it twice in the last 5-7 mins.

I'd rather they did it this morning, when kids are in school. Yes. People are at work. You minimize the amount of people able to protest.

The question I posed back a page or so ago still goes unanswered.

What changes do people actually want?

So yes, we need to discuss racism. And we need to have the police force be more representative of the community. But what else needs to happen? Because those are surface changes. There has to be more.

And then minimize the amount of people who can protest, thus raising the question of if the police would be trying to silence the people by announcing it at an inconvenient time.

Honest question: What does it take for the National Guard to get involved?

The National Guard have been set and ready to go, they are just holding off. The governor already called them up. They are just not on the scene at this time.

It looks like a large area of Ferguson, but it really isn't....so I guess they don't feel they are needed at this point.

CNN just stated that the police have done extensive training in non-violent tactics, and that the aggressors have been some in the crowds throwing bottles, rocks, etc. and according to CNN, they are set to use minimal force.

I think there are methods to hold police far more accountable. There is no reason whatsoever that a cop should be handling a citizen while on duty, and it not be recorded.

Cops still claiming that they aren't using teargas. Yet we have experienced field reporters saying they're choking on tear gas.

That isn't the question though. This is about safety.

CNN is saying that this is a small group of people (maybe 100) in a small, few-block radius.

Honestly, it doesn't take that much. This entire situation would be different if every police car had a dash cam, and every police officer wore a camera.

Where they trained specifically for this night? Because, how sad would it be that they didn't already have that training?

I think possibly, and this could be a major problem simply because of the number signing up and qualifying, but they want Ferguson to hire more black police officers.

Looks like I 44 into Ferguson has been blocked by protesters...

What would you have charged Wilson with? You have to have a crime to charge before you go to trial. That was the whole point of the grand jury; to determine what, if any charges should have been filed.
Involuntary manslaughter.

Why would they announce this at this hour, knowing full well what would happen?

So that these images would be burned in our brains the next time this happens.

No idea what the hell they were thinking. If they wanted to subvert the ones seeking chaos...announcing it at the hour they did played right into their hands.

I couldn't tell you exactly what the training was, they didn't report that.

Why is it lame and sad???

I realize thru out history there has been bad police officers, and justice may be corrupt on probably a smaller scale.

But, all this unsettling and violences I believe is obviously the protestor's fault (NOT police's)!

Charging Wilson would have just delayed this.

Brown attacked a police officer. Maybe Wilson could have used nonlethal force, but cops have gotten away with shooting people for no reason at all. Wilson actually had cause.

Brown was a dangerous idiot.
