Riots in Missouri - Part 1

Wow, Darren Wilson looks remarkably unscathed after this supposedly life threatening altercation.

Involuntary manslaughter.

Two of the main defenses to that are "self defense" and "not enough evidence"...

I'm not sure what the threshold is for the Grand Jury in that case...

Brown attacked a police officer. Maybe Wilson could have used nonlethal force, but cops have gotten away with shooting people for no reason at all. Wilson actually had cause.

Brown was a dangerous idiot.

Did you see the pics they just released of Wilson the night of the shooting? Barely a scratch on him.

Whelp, Little Ceasar's Pizza is now up in flames...

Wow, there is a Walgreens ablaze.

This is just so sad. This whole situation was a mess from the start. I can't understand the anger. But, looking at the news, I can see why it is growing. This young man may not have been a saint, but he didn't deserve to die. It is sad that this anger is turning into violence.

I realize thru out history there has been bad police officers, and justice may be corrupt on probably a smaller scale.

But, all this unsettling and violences I believe is obviously the protestor's fault (NOT police's)!

But, there's been no violence from protesters in New York. It's been peaceful protesting in New York.

And I have no idea how you could defend the NYPD in the Eric Garner case and the most recent shooting in Brooklyn of Akai Gurley. There's no way you can side with the police in those two cases.

I'm not sure that that was that important to the jury, as much as the evidence "on the gun".

Yeah...things are getting out of hand.

I'll say this, the governor did not help the situation. Announcing the decision at the hour did not help the decision. The leaks did not help the situation.

This was a powder key, and it's been mishandled completely at every step of the way.

No taser used. No nightstick. Brown, unarmed was shot 12 times. Wounded in his head, chest and arm. Probable cause was met. There should have been a trial. Decide from there. Let the justice system actually do it's job that way.

The standard is probable cause. In other words, the same standard as used in arrests. Basically the lowest legal standard we have.

Grand juries are set up to get indictments. The defendant has no right to present evidence. Rules of evidence (like the rule against hearsay) don't apply. The fact that the grand jury did not indict either means that (a) the evidence was truly that weak; or (b) the prosecutor didn't really try that hard. There has been a narrative that the DA never wanted to charge him. Whether that's true, I don't know.

Well, thus far I have heard.... "f&*( CNN and f&*( Fox".... good grief.

Dang, now I40 has been blocked by protesters...

Wow.

Chris Hayes, on MSNBC, was interviewing a pastor...and they both started to duck because of gunfire nearby. They had to leave him, and go to the anchor in studio.

Remember when we heard that there was record sales of guns in Missouri this month...??
