Riots in Missouri - Part 2

Uh huh, and the 16.3 % of whites that experienced a hate crime are totally legit...

"Whatever reason" is the color of their skin.
Then why wasn't the guy killed with hammers by several black kids yelling "kill white people" classified as a hate crime?

Curious.

I don't know. No one does or we'd have fixed it by now.

Cops are a different animal altogether. Could you imagine going to work everyday wondering if you might be attacked and killed that day?

So because cops have a dangerous job they shouldn't be held accountable for unjust killings?

Shouldn't a police officer have more accountability than the black thugs you cite in your statistics?

Blame the cops for not doing their jobs right I guess.

Btw, what does this have to do with the post you replied to?

"Hate crimes" are disproportionate and usually only involve black people killed by whites.

When will it end? If demands aren't met, this will go on everyday forever?

Its disproportionate because blacks are usually the ones that have hate crimes committed against them.

It could have something to do with population proportion. Whites are nearly 80% of population

I just rewatched the video and noticed when Pantaleo took his arms off Garner's throat he was still saying "I Can't breath" It seems clear that any of these police officers could saved this man's life, but choose to let him die.

NO CPR

NO Care

The situation with the police seems untenable to me.

There is such a lack of oversight. There is such a rift between the police and the community. The abuses just pile up and pile up. And the militarization only increases.

There needs to be radical change in the laws.

I believe legislation should be enacted that holds police to a higher standard. The prosecution of police should also be changed. Clearly the current laws are ineffective, and do nothing to deter abuse.

I agree, however I think others are culpable, not all of the officers are shown in the video.

Pantaleo's Sergeant that was in charge of the scene, along with another officer black officer, both female. Kizzy Adoni the female officer said that she heard Garner say that he couldn't breath, but also said that his condition did not seem to be severe, and did not appear to get worse.

Those things were minor. It's better with Asian Americans now, probably due to the way White America perceives Asian Americans (ie Nerds)

Possibly safe from harassment from authorities but I'm sure there are still a number of Mark Wahlberg types out there.

Didn't see any media coverage on this. Saw a twitter post or two.

Yikes. The black cop thought the 70 year old veteran had a gun, but he was reaching for his cane.

Asian Americans don't generally experience harassment from the state; the only real issue between Asians and the police is that the police tend to have a "boys will be boys" attitude when other ethnic groups target Asians for violent crime.

There will be, because it will greatly damage America's image around the world to the point where our allies start to question our intent to spread democracy around the world if we are suppressing our Black population again.

When Britain, France and Germany start questioning our "democracy" then it may be time for a wakeup call. I know that a lot of people here likely don't care, but this continues and it greatly damages the country overseas.

Howlett, you had some cold hard facts on your side but you went off the rail a bit. Every race/creed/culture has experienced racism and oppression. Measuring human atrocities as some way to make one race's past experiences greater on today's society is ridiculous. I can't believe that was argued by some of you. Look up, atrocities are happening right now all over the world that has nothing to do with 200 years ago.

I'm not sure what you're saying with that second half.

I am wondering, can we take #CrimingWhileWhite seriously? Or, that's mostly white people making up that police let them go after the white people commit a crime, to the sole effect of bragging? True or fake?

We have are our race issue problems here in the UK, France and a number of other European countries.

I don't think America's image is anymore damaged than it already was if I'm honest.

The establishment and authorities in most countries tend to have a protect their own attitude to these kind of incidents.
