Apocalypse Rose Byrne is BACK as Moira MacTaggert

 But it was they're first and only kiss; the last time Charles would see her again. Why would you assume they were ****ing like wild rabbit?

Why couldn't they have ****ed the week (or few days) everyone was at the mansion training?

I mean, sure they had a scene that hinted at it, and that scene was cut. But, it wouldn't be far fetched to still think that within the context of FC, that still could have happened.

Before the deleted scenes were released, did anyone really think there was more to their relationship? That they had an off screen romantic relationship? I didn't. The kiss at the end was a bit of a surprise to me too. I remember in the theater thinking "Oh... okay. I guess that worked.". I'm not saying it couldn't happen, but that doesn't mean it should. Set ups avoid confusion later.

But that kiss, paired with Moira's comments about said kiss to the CIA, plus Xavier's attraction make it less farfetched if it's explored in XMA...

I'd be okay if they explored a romantic relationship in Apocalypse. I'd love it actually. But a surprise baby from a fling that we never got to see nor even hinted upon?... not feeling it.

i took the kiss to be their first kiss, esp the way moira spoke about the kiss after like that one kiss was that impactful for her

to read between the lines works better in fan fiction, if someone wanted to write their own story that happened in between the events of FC then that works as a bit of fun but from a official cannon story telling point of view... it doesn't work to throw that new piece of unseen information into the 3rd sequel

no one will read between those lines so it will just come across as contrived and forced

Here's another simple point...

If they want to go with Proteus more than likely they would put his age around 20 years old, give or take. They could go with a younger kid, but what is most likely is a 19 or 20 year old.

For example, IF (and it's a big if) Hardy is Proteus, then he would have to be around this age.

That means that Moira got pregnant right around the time or the events of First Class (in 1962 or 1963).

There would be two main options for this to be a possibility...

1. She was with CHarles (or someone else) during the events of First Class (Charles would be the only logical option).

or 2. She got busy not too long after the events of First Class. This seems unlikely. Her mental state at the end of First CLass didn't seem to be one ready to have a relationship that would lead to a child.

Maybe Proteus won't be in the movie, but again I just don't see why it would be worth including Moira (Rose), other than the fact that she's hot!

Well i suppose there are several ways of looking at it really

1. it being hollywood ben hardy could play anything from 18 to 22 seeing as he is 24, after all andrew garfield played a teen at 28 or 29

2. given how you talk about her and charles doing it after very little time knowing each other i doubt she took a vow of celibacy after her memory was erased by charles since most of the experiences are gone

3. if anything happened between them it was probably at the mansion (and yes it did happen at the mansion in the deleted scenes), yno the stuff she forgot about, so unless she thinks she has given birth to the son of god or possibly mind raped by charles since she remembers nothing it just adds so much complexity to it

Her getting in a relationship after FC (2-3 years after) makes more sense. He looks about the same age as the other kids who are 16 in the film.

^ I hear ya on all points.

What we do know is that she indicated to the CIA boss man that she is getting fragments. Seems possible, but yes - extraneous, that her memories may have returned at some point after she left the CIA.

I do agree that if indeed I am right that she's being brought back so we can get Proteus, then it could be either Charles is dad or someone else. But you do seem to agree with me that if this is about Proteus and Hardy is said Proteus, then at a minimum he will need to be around 18 years old, which would have him being conceived in 1964. Yes, possible, but...

I'm worried that Moira is going to be used as a plot device/cannon fodder to further the Charles and Eric story, since she is not popular with the fangirls.

I highly doubt Singer gives a rip about some annoying fangirls online.

I really hope I am wrong about my fears of them using Moira as a device and not let her be her own character.

Most of us here probably follow X-men movie news more closely than Singer and I for one didn't even know the "fangirls" hated Rose Byrne's Moira.

I doubt Singer does either. Or cares to begin with.

Wait, there's people out there who don't like Rose Byrne? :loco:

Pure nonsense.

I think it's the character they don't like.

I hope Bryne gets a better role in this movie, since she will be the connective tissue to First Class.

What was there not to like about her character in First Class? She was awesome!

Byrne talked a little about Apocalypse at the SXSW festival.

X-Men Goes 80s: I’m leaving tomorrow and off to do another film. It’s called The Meddler with Susan Sarandon and JK Simmons and I’m really excited about it. Then I’m going off to do X-Men: The Apocolypse. My character Moira MacTaggert is back! She’s been chilling out in a yoga studio somewhere, relaxing and it’s the 80s. I’m excited about those shoulder pads.

Finally a word from her!

I wonder if the yoga studio she was in is located at Muir Island.

We'll get a lot more quotes from her soon since Spy is coming out in a month and a half.
