After hearing Routh in the international trailer, I am really happy with Brandon's voice. Very nice, it's deep and he kind of sounds like Reeve, but I'm not trying to compare him to Christopher, I'm kind of viewing this as something new. Even though it's a vague sequel, I think of it as new.

Well his voice should be deep, but being deep is not enough, from what I have seen so far he does not have a commanding voice.

Nah....I hear you.

With Reeve, in that one scene where he's about to tell Lois everything...we see the entire transformation right infront of us. One moment he's hunched over, stuttering, with a really soft spoken voice, totally nerdy and without any confidence......and then the next moment he's straightened tall, his chest sticking out, his voice is deep, strong and confident.....and then another second he's reverted back to his nerdy cover. So....we see the entire difference between how Superman and Clark ACT.

With the voice changes I heard in Routh in the trailer....when he says hi to the (damn ****in) kid......and when he goes into Perry's office....and then compare it to his Superman lines....there is significent difference. That's awesome.

He has enough.

I dunno.....that one line where he says, "You said the world doesn't need a savior, but everyday....I hear people calling for one.." sounded pretty commanding.

"That place was a graveyard, Im all thats left".........sounded amazing. He sounded way older than his age with that voice.

"Im sorry I left you Lois" is another example.

Brandon's voice is one of the things I loved about the trailers. It's one of those "purring" voices, that sticks with you. :)
That being said, I don't know... I think it sounds a bit youngish for Superman. Not that I mind, but it's just different from what I pictured Superman might sound like. Guess I got used to Tim Daly. :)

Superman should sound like Optimus Prime, "One shall stand...one shall fall".

I'm j/k btw...

Routh sounds good from the trailers. Of course final judgement will be June 30th.

Sounds like he has trouble pronouncing words.

There is not one word spoken in any of the trailers that he has any trouble pronouncing. That is a rediculous statement, and completely untrue.

There could be something in the film that we have not seen. But nothing that we have seen yet has he shown any trouble with the language.

I agree, it's very sexy. My favorite is how he says "I'm sorry I left you Lois". :O gah, yummy

My favourite is "I'm always around". It has a hint of amusement, but at the same time it's very warm. :)

to me he talks as well as welling... That's not a bad thing in my mind but I know everyone here just took out a gun and pointed it at me as soon as I posted that.

The voice is perfect.

We're talking about peoples voices now. You're scraping the bottom of the barrel, people!

Whatchu talking about, Gamma Ray?
The voice is half of the actor's arsenal, the other half being body language! It's very important for Routh to not only look like Superman but to also sound like Superman. If voices were not important, then we'd still be stuck with silent movies.

Nothing for nothing... but as hot as Welling is, he does have an annoying voice sometimes. Especially when he's nervous and it goes up a few octaves. :)

:down yuck.

Lets not mention him again, he doesnt deserve it. This is a Superman forum.

I wonder if Brandon will be the first Superman actor to make the difference between CK and Supes, believeable.

Singer seems to be putting alot of emphasis on making these characters real.

He has a good voice but havn't really heard it enough. Will be one of those things I judge when I see the film.

And "I'm sorry I left you Lois," that was great.

I like Routh's voice alot, He can change it when it's for Clark: it being kind of high and then when it comes to Superman: it's deep and he really sounds like the Man of Steel. I believe Routh can do a great job as Superman/Clark Kent, June 30th is when we'll see for sure though. :supes:

Best line so far, "You wrote that world doesn't need a savior, but everyday I hear people crying for one."

That was Superman period!!

Well, the line "it's not easy to live my life, being who I am, keeping secrets" The last word "secrets' he doesn't seem to spit that word out well. But that's the only word I noticed off a tad.

I agree i think we'll see something from Routh we never thought was possible.

That whole sentence is a bit... I don't know... sounds like he couldn't find the words. Maybe he was just being Clark talking to his mom and it just sounds like he's having trouble with the words because he's confiding in his mom.
