I'm getting really tired of the "BW is the team bicycle" argument because it's complete and utter BS, and yet so many people won't stop prattling on about it. She's had exactly ZERO confirmed romances in the MCU thus far, ZERO!! Her "links" to her male teammates are as follows:

-Hawkeye-An ambiguously "close" relationship who's exact nature is unclear at this point.
-Cap-They're "bros" post-TWS.
-Tony-A professional relationship where she is frequently annoyed by his antics and he doesn't fully trust her.
-Banner-An ambiguous relationship as well.
-Thor-Not much of a relationship to speak of beyond being teammates.

EVERY one of the male Avengers has had more confirmed romantic links than her, all of them. So people making the "team bicycle" argument are either not paying attention to what's onscreen (I've noticed a pattern in that regard) or are just deliberately ignoring it so that they can complain.

And no, Betty DOESN'T have to be Banner's SOLE love interest. He's had other ones in the comics, so there's no reason why he cannot do so in the films.

The only reference to the phrase 'team bike' was made by someone who disagreed with the description, and the use of the word 'links' refers to the subtle sexual/romantic undertones between characters on screen.

Widow is a very flirty character who uses her sexuality to successfully achieve her objectives on missions (no different to other spies like Mockingbird, Hunter etc. on Agents of Shield).

There was definitely a sexual undertone in her initial relationship with Stark, which was later replaced by distrust. In Avengers it was alluded that there was a possibility she would have slept with the Russian General when she refered to his plans for the evening. In TWS she flirted with Falcon when they first met, and had a flirty relationship with Steve (the speculation about their relationship not being helped by their kiss). Her antics in the comics have been much worse.

This is how Marvel has decided to portray her as a spy in the MCU and I agree with previous comments that this was a mistake as it has cheapened her character somewhat.

As for the nature of her relationship with Banner I still think that a friendship would suit the two characters better than a romance, avoiding reducing either character to a possible love interest in the story.

When did Widow flirt with falcon?! She said hi, Falcon tried to give her a "look" when he said hi and she just glared back. Is that what you call a girl flirting?!

I very much agree, but the sad thing is that outside of the character's own fanbase there doesn't seem to be a great demand for it.

Dunno, I tend to see alot of desire for one on the web. That being said, I'm hoping something happens to Hulk in AoU (not necessarily PH), but something spoiler-iffic that leads to a Hulk film, that they just can't announce, due to it spoiling something big....though I have little-no hope for that. :csad:

Oh well, we have Captain Marvel...yaaaayyy.....:o

She's not flirting but she doesn't glare either. She gives a bit of a friendly smirk smile that could be in response to Sam's smile and/or Steve's joke about how you can't run everywhere.

BW is very sexy and she flirts. I like it. She comes across as fun and you can't but help to like her. As said as far as we know she has had no sexual relations with anyone in the MCU, so how people can think she is depicted as a **** is just wrong.

Where has this thread gone?

So is the Hulk going to turn grey at some point in the film?

Omg...a woman smiled...she must be flirting with me 0.o

Every time I check this thread I think someone is talking about Ruffalo or what they want in a Hulk movie...and yet, SHH finds new ways to disappoint me every day. :o

Sorry! Started discussing Banner's story in Age of Ultron and allowed discussion to get dragged completely off topic! :csad::whatever:

I think we were discussing Hulk appearing in Dr Strange and possible story?

I don't think they'll put Hulk in Dr Strange. Maybe in a sequel, but not in the Phase 3 film.

I think we'll see Banner in other films. Not sure about Hulk.

I would love to see Hulk in Dr Strange. Do you think we will only see Hulk in the IW movies?

In phase3 ? Yeah I think only the two IW movies.

Maybe if Dr Strange gets a sequel in phase 4 then that would make more sense as a possible starring role for Hulk.

Fiege said Hulk was going to appear in many of the phase 3 movies. That tells me he won't just be in the IW movies.

I don't think he will be in Dr. Strange though. I expect that to be more of a stand-alone film.

hopefully Strange will attempt to cure Banner's psyche and we'll see how that works out-- or not.

I'm still betting on Banner being taken off the board at the end of this film somehow.

Didn't the Variety leak suggest that Banner was the alternative option for Stark in civil war if RDJ didn't want to appear? This suggests that Banner will be on Earth at the end of Age of Ultron.

I think his story will see him returning to his situation at the beginning of the Avengers and he will be in hiding again, and his links with the team will be broken.
