RUMOR: Rocksteady works on a TMNT game

I can already see a kid making a makeshift Naginata, by taping a knife to a broom.

Lol. I'm certain I did that as a kid........

Ok, a few days ago.

I need this rumor to be awesome
Bebop and Krang are awesome. :o

Rocksteady though, I wouldn't miss him. :o
They suck :o

Man...it would be cool to have a new TMNT game, Rocksteady would definitely do the characters justice, I would like to see them aim for a darker tone and stray away from the cartoon series, as much as i love the 80's cartoon.
The 80s cartoon strayed faaaar away from the comics

You know who needs to be in this game? These guys.

I love how all 3 of the turtles took their turns and said "Nice hats", hearing Johnny Cage saying that to Rayden was even better

they did use those weapons in the former missing 4th season of there resent series. where they fought the Tengu shredder.
Don't you mean the 5th season? 4th season introduced Rat King, gave Mikey a rematch in the Battle Nexus, and had monsters in the sewers infecting Don and him turning to a monster, final episode served as a prologue to season 5

Season 5 had the ancient Shredder

Was the 2003 toon ever put out in DVD? Is this game happening or are we all setting ourselves up for misery and woe?

On Mike's new weapons, all a kid need do is get a length of string or something and tie it around the handle of Mommy's kitchen knife.

Well let's just hope that with all of the fan reception, Rocksteady takes it into consideration and actually makes a TMNT game. It seems like all the attempts that have been made to put the turtles back into the limelight have kinda fell through. I wasn't really interested in the 2003 cartoon, just seemed kinda meh, I guess I should prolly watch them, they may actually be ok

no it was the missing half of the 4th season it started with them fallowing splinter to a boat to (well they just fallowed him) japan with the ancient one to meet the ninja tribunal and them meeting human followers of the new teachers in the ninja tribunal to battle the Tengu(another word for Goblin) shredder and then it stop for period of time cause the writers wanted to more time with the story and have it fleshed out I guess and we had fast forward to keep us busy til they were done with that

the point is if you look for the American commercials for that ancient shredder thing they called it the lost Ep's . it was pushed that way through CW and Fox in north America and is known that way cannon wise. They were just finishing what supposed to be aired earlier.

Tengu Shredder is 5th Season. Season 6 is Fast Forward.

it's started with the ninja tribunal which started in
season Code: S04E26
http://tmnt.wikia.com/wiki/Ninja_Tribunal_(2003_episode)
which mean's season 4 and the rest when it came back after fast forward were called the lost eps.

since you guys are in Europe it's possible it aired differently for you all.

Most of the 2003 series was put out on DVD. They even rereleased the first couple of seasons as DVD sets a couple years back.

Season 2 is a bit more expensive on Amazon, but saw a couple reasonably priced on ebay.

You'll have to search around for most of the other stuff in DVD releases that only had 4-5 episodes were DVD.

They never released the last season, "Back to the Sewers" to DVD and I kind of doubt they will at this point.

There are quite a few factors going against this game being made. Ultimately is will have to be WB's call if they want to buy the TMNT license from Nickelodeon to make a game since WB owns Rocksteady now. Also, Nickelodeon would have to offer it out to WB. I know Nick has a pretty close relationship with THQ now, but they may go bellyup in the next couple of years.

GekigangerV hmm that handle reminds me of that anime A friend made me watch I think it was Martian Successor Nadesico . Interesting chose in name.

What game is that?
I know it isn't Turtles in Time.

THQ said they won't make any children/family-friendly games anymore. I imagine any TMNT game will have an appeal to a younger crowd. Plus, like you said, THQ could be dead in a year.

As for WB (TimeWarner) and Nick (Viacom), there is some precedent that a game could work. WB Interactive purchased Traveler's Tales back in 2007. Since then, they have developed Lego Indiana Jones and Star Wars (LucasArts), Pirates of the Caribbean (Disney Interactive), and Rock Band (EA). Each game was published by the company that controls them in parenthesis. If they were to reach an agreement, it would likely be that RockSteady develops the game and a publisher controlled by Viacom publish it.

FWIW, Paramount (a Viacom company) and WB collaborated on the recent Friday the 13th remake.

Well I'm still holding onto hope since Rocksteady hasn't denied it yet. If there's no truth to the rumor you'd think they'd have made an statement by now. A quick tweet or press release to say it's not true.

Maybe the game's still being negotiated copyright wise or in very early development stages and Rocksteady just isn't ready to say anything. I hope...

Just the idea has me itching for a turtle fix. I'm watching the fifth season/lost episodes of the 2k3 series on YouTube now. Never actually saw them on TV.

I hope they're huge fans of the comics and characters

Watch it, it's about ninjas performing as ninjas, Mikey, Don and Leo are way better, and the jokes are less corny

That's why it's called "The missing episodes" then, I didn't watch it on air

Maybe it's a surprise, when have they announced Batman games in regards to the release?

I really want this to be true. And if it is, I demand Casey Jones as a playable character.

That would be great, knowing Rocksteady, they may just make him a DLC character to keep the focus primarily on the Turtles.

I wish the oldschool TMNT game was still on the Marketplace, wouldn't mind playing it right about now
