RUMOR: Rocksteady works on a TMNT game

IGN ran the rumor a few days back. so that can be a good thing i'm guessing. hopefully something official is announced soon.

Have any other sites debunked the rumor?

All we have so far, is an "insider" debunking the rumor as fake. But there is no official word from Rocksteady. But I just got home, so I'm going to surf the net for a bit.

Well, the biggest thing to consider is that Nickelodeon owns the TMNT and WB owns Rocksteady.

Speaking of Nick, I finally checked out that upcoming animated series. I can't believe Michelangelo isn't going to use Nunchucks anymore.

That may not be a big issue, Soapy. Traveler's Tales is owned by Warner Interactive (purchased in 2007) and the developed the LEGO Pirates of the Caribbean game, a Walt Disney Co. property. The game was published by Disney Interactive.

I'm not completely sure who owns Indiana Jones (whether Lucas himself does) but all movies have been released by Paramount, a Viacom company just like Nickelodeon. The Lego Indy games were released after TT was purchased by Warner and published by LucasArts.

Also, Warner Bros. and Paramount collaborated on the Friday the 13th remake.

How come?
What is he going to use, then?

Mike is going to use a Kusarigama and Don a Naginata.

Don too?
Do they have any reason for the changes? I liked their weapons.

No idea. Maybe they thought, since they are Ninjas, they all need bladed weapons?

Mikey needs his numchucks like Dovahkiin needs his Fus Ro Dah. :o

It really doesn't make any sense to give Michelangelo and Donatello bladed weapons. If they really felt the need to make that kind of change, they should have given Leonardo and Raphael different weapons. Now all of the turtles have weapons they won't actually use.

Well, at least Don still has a blunt side and Mike can toss that weight on the chain into people's faces. Ah, it's gonna be fun. 4 Mutant Ninjas, all with bladed weapons, enemies don't even get cut once. Unless all the Foot Ninjas are robots again.

I could get behind the naginta provided that Taco is doing the voice of Don.

Despite the fact that all 4 have bladed weapons, no character will ever bleed.

they did use those weapons in the former missing 4th season of there resent series. where they fought the Tengu shredder. which was freaking awesome when I finally saw it and finished the rest of the series with back to the sewer. any way those weapons were sweet. next to the fast forward weapons that they came back with. It was on youtub. Not sure if it's still there.

But I suggest you all check it out /find it. It should have been out on DVD though. I haven't heard any announcement since they finished all that. That was when CW went satellite and moved away from Fox syndication too.

Yeah, that's right. But they all had weapon changes. Raph was actually the one using the Kusarigama, a double Kusarigama to be more precise. Don had the Naginata, maybe it's called something else though, because it wasn't a single blade, it was in the form of a cross. Mike had this, the name escapes me. And I think Leo just had another pair of swords.

I always liked how in the UK and Australia they banned any visuals of Mike using nunchaku but Leo and Raph's blades were perfectly fine.

Didn't they also change the title? They thought "ninja" was too violent a word and changed it to something else if I'm remembering correctly.

Here in germany it was known as Teenage Mutant Hero Turtles.

It's called the sansetsukon it's a tree section pole it works like the nunchucks I think Electra from marvel comic's uses them. Elektra by Bruce Timm. Also I think I remember shang-chi's father from master of kung fu comics in marvel used them alot.

Also if your a bleach fan there's that Sole reaper that's katana turns into that with a blade at the top.

what was his name? oh yeah Ikkaku Madarame
Ikkaku's Shikai separated.

now from your discripstion it sound like the weapon Raph used were called Bonrai

Could Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Manhattan Crisis be real!?

The amount of reader response across the internet over the last few days regarding the rumored game, “Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Manhattan Crisis” has been both substantial and highly desired. What I’m doing right now is letting you all know that I have contacted Rocksteady via e-mail and twitter, to see if they can confirm or deny this rumor.

In the meantime, the voices of many are more powerful than the voice of one, so if you want this game to be made, speak up! Take this opportunity to share your thoughts below on the rumored project and if you have a twitter account, plug this in: #CowabungaPGN We want Ninja Turtles from @RocksteadyGames!

With any luck, we’ll get Rocksteady’s attention. Let’s do this and thank you all for sharing your support and interest thus far!

Rocksteady…show us the green!

I'm already on my Twitter account.

I believe the reason for the change was that nunchucks and a bo staff were too easy for kids to replicate. Its a stupid stupid reason but i think thats what it was

Hey, if you're a small kid, you can get Kitchen knifes and pretend they are katanas. Also, kids are already running around playing with sticks, which they pretend are swords. I think what you say is true, it's just totally stupid.

Oddly those weapon changes seem more violent. At least Mike won't be stuck using a grappling hook again..
