well thor shoots in middle of jan. So of course they would need everything locked by now. When we know gl isnt shooting to march/april. Plus we dont really know what has been going on behind the scenes. For all we know testing could easily be going well, they are finding their best picks and are in the process of narrowing down. Then we dont know how they want to reveal the cast, do they want to do it one by one, or reveal a bunch just before filming starts like how it was for watchmen.

well sure if we dont have anything else by the end of the year it would be a bit disapointing. But we dont really know how wb/campbell want to reveal the cast. For all we know like i said the rest of the cast could be officially announced just before the film is due to go into production. Or for all we know we could be getting casting trickle out between now and feb i say like how its been going for thor.

What's usually the time span between the lead actor being cast, and all the supporting actors? For all we know they've already cast everyone else... remember how they came outta nowhere with Reynolds.

i don't know but I do know there's 4 more months till actual production. Then again, Thor just added 3 new cast members and it's got 2 months left.

yea its different for every movie really. Its all about how they want to go about revealing the cast. Do they want to assemble the whole cast an announce it all together at one time, or do they want to announce it right after the struck a deal with "X" person and all that. As for GL i would only be very worry if we dont have 2-3 more roles revealed before feb.

I think they're working out the deals right now, and I think they probably have people lined up. Sometimes, the studios will wait until the right moment before they release the news to the trades (variety for example)

totally that is what i am thinking too octoberist, they probably have their lets say top 3-5 picks for say carol/sinestro/hammond and are seeing which folks work the best together and which one are willing to sign for x number of pictures and all that deal. I wouldnt be surprised either if they do have the cast set or just waiting for the deals to be sign. Before to reveal it to the public.

I mean Thor has all it's sets completed, everything.

We haven't heard a peep about any stuff like that from this production.

I'm getting scared for this movie. Thor just added 3 new members to the cast, and all we have is Ryan Reynolds and a couple of rumors...

To be fair, the entire cast of 'Thor' doesn't come close to the awesomeness of Ryan Reynolds. t:

well we do know with all the changes in the production from oz to new orleans probably change how things were going for gl. Plus we dont know how much phsyical sets they are going to have for gl compared to thor and how much is going to be green/blue screen work.

i mean, it's a big change, going from Fox Studios to a newly minted studio in New Orleans. As impressive as it is, the Second Line Stages (where they set up their offices) only has 3 stages, where as Fox has close to a dozen.

I just wonder how they're pull it off.

yea i wonder that too myself, though i am thinking probably 80% of the film will likely be green screen and 20% phsyical sets, locations and all that.

Instead of Lobo they should be making a new Superman, or a new Flash. Start working on their more popular characters. What's going on with DC anyways?

I think if GL does well, they'll probably be more comfortable making Flash or a new Superman, but who knows.

well, in Janurary, DC will have a HUGE press conference, being conducted by the new president. Back in October, she said that they will announce feature projects, including motion picture.

I think by then, we'll know about Batman 3 and even...THE FLASH...along with Superman, Wonder Woman and (this is wishful thinking) Booster Gold!

These announcements are also used to build up hype for the film so I'm sure/Hope they have something going on from a marketing standpoint to get the most out of it. With this huge DC event that may happen, because lets face it, it hasnt been confirmed with a set date, I don't know if they're going to blast us with a bunch of news all at once instead of spreading it out. Which when you think about it, its better to spread it out to keep awareness then to give everything away all at once.

i just hope that DC and Wb doesn't decide to release the Green Lantern cast until then. I think they can hold off on Sinestro, but they need to release the actors/actresses for the other characters like Carol and Abin.

well i doubt superman will be known with all the dam crap going on with the legal stuff. Though we know batman 3 will be known, GL it would be the prime place to reveal the rest of the cast. Then in my mind i still think the flash is likely to be the next one to be focused on and if not him then shazam or flash/shazam together.

Any chances of Superman or Wonder Woman happening are dead IMO



The future of DC films will just be a string of disconnected and random features with more focus placed on lesser known characters.

yea i agree we know hex and losers are already pretty much in the can, so at the meeting probably just be talking about their releasing coming a few months later. Then we already know from reports earlier this week that batman 3 news will be official in jan so we will know whats up there. Then GL could be the next big character news to talk about. Then at most we will be lucky to see if flash/shazam/sgt rock is the next one to be worked on. Though to me i see shazam or flash happening more then sgt rock. Since there has been more development with flash/shazama in last few months then sgt rock.
