Ryan Reynolds is the Green Lantern

It's the two extremes: Either you sit on your properties like DC so you can creatively manage each film with dignity; or you release movies like constantly like Marvel, while dominating - or over-saturate - the market in a short time-frame..

There's pros and cons in both cases. I think DC is doing it right by thinking it out a bit but they need to get a-moving.

So Marvel are not creatively managing their films with dignity? Errr...didn't they make Iron Man? Ain't they making Thor that has an amazing cast and director? You can't say Marvel are not treating the Thor production without dignity.

WB/DC are lagging behind. And it's nothing to do with them thinking it out. It's to do with them not having the balls or confidence in their own properties. After what happened to Superman they are a bit apprehensive.

This is true

I mean if Marvel can do what their doing with Thor, I dont see why DC cant get behind GL, Flash, & WOnder Woman more

i probably didn't the wrote that post the way that I wanted. I love Iron Man and I'm looking forward to Thor actually.

But I also clumped the Marvel movies with their own brands of movies that are not directly produced and funded by them.

Well then I'd agree to that. But those movies are out of Marvel Studio's hands really.

I do agree (as mentioned before) that DC and WB are just sitting on their properties and it seems like they're just greenlighting whatever projects that had ready after they had that big WB/DC meeting. In other words, if they do have a plan, it seems to be playing by ear than having a strategy.

yea it blows wb/dc been sitting on projects for years cause looking at it i see no reason in the past decade why a flash, ww, green lantern, etc.... character could have happened. The genre is popular, the effects can handle the characters now and all that.

For a project that is almost ready to hit the theaters, I have seen next to no promotions for Hex.

well i believe hex isnt out to mid summer. There is plently of time for hex and even the losers to be promoted.

WB/DC is quality over quantity. :yay:

I like Iron Man but, honestly, without Robert Downey Jr., it would not have been as good. He brought it to life.

It's kind of like the 'Pirates' sequels. Imagine what they'd be like without Johnny Depp. :woot:

^Thats bulls**t made up by Dark Knight fans, Iron Man was a good movie. Period.

And no, I'm not one of those Marvel v DC idiots.

When did I say Iron Man wasn't a good movie? I like it. I just think that RDJ made a little better than it would've been without him. It still would've been good.

I'm not one of these obsessive Dark Knight fans, even though I like the movie. In fact, if I had to choose, I'd pick Iron Man.

I'm a DC guy, mostly, but I do like Iron Man, X-Men, Punisher and Nova.

So calm down.

Yeah, but if you were to ask them that ten years ago... :awesome:

Sure they take long, but damn, when their competition is getting the leg up and their poster boy is Batman and with WW and Flash in devlopment hell, you need something else, and it's taken too long.

I mean look at them.

One mediocre Superman film.
Two amazing Batman films.

Three in ten years. That's not a good thing.

Yup. Then add in WW and Flash that can't get off the ground, and now GL. That makes three superheroes.

Need I explain how Marvel is doing?

Exactly, and I NEED quality over quantity. If I get a "HULK" from DC I'm might just turn into the

:bh:

It's not ******** and it has nothing to do with TDK. Iron Man was a good film, BUT he's right without Robert what whould it have been? What would TDK have been without Bale and Ledger?

Yeah, but if you were to ask them that ten years ago... :awesome:

Constantine
Batman Begins
V For Vendetta
Superman Returns
The Dark Knight
Watchmen

That's six in five years and they all ranged from good to exceptional. DC hasn't made a bad film since 2005, Marvel on the other hand has made many a bad film.

How is Marvel doing? They just got bought by Disney and the only really successful films they have are Spiderrman and Ironman.

Marvel has put out more good films than DC I think.

DC has Batman 89, Returns, Begins, TDK.

And the first Superman...what else? I'm confident Green Lantern will be great too.

Marvel has Iron Man, X1 and X2, Spider-Man 1 and 2, The Incredible Hulk, I'd say Daredevil Directors Cut is decent too. Thor is going to be immense, guaranteed.
