So yeah, I still don't like the pic.

I sleep with this every night to help me cope:

A bumb, No this can't be?? This topic needs a bump? :o :woot:

It seems like the IBIHDT picture riot here at SHH has subsided since the second Joker pic was revealed. :joker:

Nah those of us who hated that pic still think it's ass cheeks just that dwelling on it doesn't solve anything.

True.

But in the the end I believe this will be another "GraigBond" or more recently the "Bayformers" riot, looks like those Transformer fanboys are slowly but surely changing their tune about the movie.

Currently very disappointed...........

What's with the gash? We'll see...

Whoop-dee-doo for realism, but the idea that the smile is like he put lipstick on in the dark is ridiculous.

Unfortunately, Scarecrow didn't change much after we saw his first look, and I have a feeling what we have seen won't be much far from the Joker we'll see in the movie.

Don't me wrong, Nolan is the man, he's put the bat back on the map in a big way and I have been pleasantly surprised by some of the choices he's made, but things like Ra's Al Ghul and constantly killing off characters (supposedly, maybe not), Scarecrow's look (and where did he go in the 1st movie anyway after getting zapped), the entire zoomed-in and rapid moving camera angles throughout Batman Begins, and now our Joker looking the way he is, leaves me disappointed. I mean don't get me wrong again, I loved BB for what it was, and how long it took for Batman films to become as close to the comic as it's gonna get (it won't get closer than this series) but everytime Hollywood and some new visionary comes in, nobody can stick to the comic script. I understand none of us will ever find a perfect Bat-film but I'm fed up with Hollywood.

If you want a script or a winning screenplay or the best look for characters for a big budget movie that will guarantee big crowds to be drawn to the theaters, study the comics! Everything you need is right there!

Which is why Frank Miller sleeps/rolls around in a vault of money everynight because Rodriguez and Snyder adapted his comics to the fullest detail and finally Hollywood got it right by not interfering with the script or direction or comics themselves. (Avi Arad and the producers of "Spider-Man 3" I'm looking at you when I say this.)

I mean I don't know who is the bigger toiler with this new Joker look. If it's WB pulling the puppet strings or if it's Nolan's realistic view of Gotham City and all things dreary and corrupt in Gotham. Whatever it is, I hope Chris is reading this forum (I doubt it, but there's a part of me that does hope he is) because he needs to hear from the Batman fans that as much as we appreciated "BB" we don't want to go to the theater and come out royally pissed off because he ****ed up a beloved Batman villain like Burton did with The Penguin or Schumacher with Two-Face, Poison Ivy, and Mr. Freeze.

And I mean Nolan is restarting the franchise from scratch, but yet I feel he feels he is making a remake and hence that's why he changed the look, the creation and origin of Joker, etc.

You don't need to change things to make a film new. Hell, Jackson's "Kong" was still the 30's "King Kong" just that it was longer, more character-driven, an ape who was more loveable than a beast, and cool CGI-action-sequences. So, what I mean by this is---Nolan could still use what Burton did. Just take out Jack Napier and bring in the Red Hood and follow Alan Moore's "The Man Who Laughs" and you got a good story. Then, when the Joker comes out of the vat of chemicals changed into a new man, you can follow "Joker's Five-Way Revenge" and "Batman: The Long Halloween."

There's nothing radical about being polite.

And what "politeness" have you enforced recently? From the looks of that enormous "hive" on the top of the forum, would say...none, though it looks like you guys do a lot of talking in your ivory tree fort.

If I were you, I would watch out for those "best intentions", because if I learned anything from history, the "best intentions" are often the ones that benefit the few, if not the one.

Made this recently. Tried to figure out how I thought it should be done and still I'm not 100% sure. But kinda close. Made the hair partially green and black, like the 1940's Joker. The lips are just natural skin red.

Bit too subtle. Greener hair and whiter skin, could you try that?

You're welcome to come in and chat, even if you just want to say how you hate the idea. If we haven't been 'enforcing' politeness, maybe it's cause things have calmed down... or maybe our fascist tendencies haven't kicked in yet. Would you be happier if we were reporting people left right and centre, as that would show your theories about the forum would be correct?
Now, I'm gonna get out of this thread, because this isn't really the place to discuss this. Anyone who wants to take me up on this or any other point feel free to PM me and give out to me there.

maybe add more bruising around the eyes and darker lips. he doesn't look properly deranged or evil.

Being subtle would only really work if HL had more of a "jokerish" face to begin with, the wide jaw and nose don't help one bit. The length of the hair is pretty good in that pick though, slick it back and it'd look great, I'm not really into the idea of a mullet for mr. J

I think, if you consider the original design, he does look some-what like The Joker, at least jaw and smile wise.

It's just that the IBIHDT look kills it. Dead.

Not much could be done on the thin eyebrows or the happy eyes. If he looked more evil from the beginning, it would've been different. Same goes for the hair. It has to be slicked back in the original photo. I focused mainly on the skin, lips, hair color and around the eyes.

Seriously. All they needed to do was make his skin white, give him a fake nose, and some lip stick. He doesn't need a perma-smile in anyway shape or form. Just tell Heath to keep grinning, always.

I thought a week away would make me hate the original photo less, but it hasn't. :(

I'll reserve judgment until i see him in a movie still or promo pic, but as it is it looks 'OK'.

Well, at least we know that he doesn't stay the way he is in that picture. The set picture confirms that.
