Hmm, I'm sitting here watching Saw II on Syfy and I was wondering if any discussion has been brought up about Daniel Matthews? Could he be a potential apprentice or something? I wouldn't think the writers would just forget about him, but, who knows.

yeah, id like to see what happened to him, but i really cant think of any reason he would want to become an apprentice.

Exactly. Daniel survived the game relatively unharmed, even though he was more of a tool than a subject. The end of Saw VI could see him and Amanda upstaging Hoffman and forming some sick couple. Maybe?

Lionsgate Already Planning on Eighth 'Saw' Film

A small piece of news was hiding in the Hollywood Reporter's article about "Clive Barker's Hotel", a new TV series being scripted by scribes Marcus Dunstan and Patrick Melton. "The pair wrote the previous two movies in the [Saw] franchise and also penned the screenplay to this fall's "Saw VI." They are attached to write as many as two of the movies beyond that." This would mean the duo is already set to return for Lionsgate's Saw VIII, which would probably arrive in theaters October of 2011, assuming all goes well with the sixth and seventh film (said to be in 3-D). How crazy is this? EIGHT films! Jigsaw appears to be unstoppable.

The last 3 Saw movies sucked. Only Saw 1 and 2 was good. The rest was below average films. But love the blood and gore though.

Well I was also hoping they would stop at 6,but it seems they can't pass it up. I guess when u make a movie for some spare change and u make decent money back it gonna happen. Though I think they start losing alot of cred,by doing 2 more,they are gonna have to do something different imo.

Saw isn't classic by our definition of classic. But the first film, in my opinion, is classic due to the compelling storyline and the iconic twist. That film will always be classic to me.

However, when you really think about it, they're the only "horror"/"suspense" films that are either good or decent. I can't remember the last really good horror film that I watched other than a few remakes. At least Saw is trying to be original with their methods and the killers.

I'm hoping six brings everything full circle and we have important loose ends tied up.

Yeah it is better then most horror films these days. And its not scary but the kills are sick man and makes you want to turn away. Some of them do. Overall its a pretty good franchise.

I'm not sure what u would classify it under,but think most classify as a horror film..Is it a 'classic',hmmm,maybe not yet,but I think at least the first Saw is possibly in that category down the road,possibly.
