If someone was killing my friends, no **** would I be obessed with finding them, and no **** i'd do whatever I could to help them.
Jigsaw's an *******. You are led to believe he wants to do good, but really...he can pick WAY more deserving people then someone like Jeff or Rigg.
Pick a Child molester, pick a murderer, pick someone who HAS ACTUALLY RUINED THEIR LIFE. Make them redeem themselves. But nooo...lets get some cop who is going crazy over his FRIENDS dying. Yeah...thats unheard of....
As I've pointed out numerous times, the films aren't about people "deserving" what happens to them, they're about Jigsaws message, not his methods. They're about seeing how much people are willing to go through to get back something that they've been discarding or mistreating once they're put in a situation where it's in jeopardy and they have to struggle for it or lose it for good. Of course Jeff didn't DESERVE to die, but Jigsaw is a serial killer (whether he wants to admitt it, or realizes it or not), of course his actions aren't going to always be deserved.
and I'd say Xavior was as bad or atleast pretty damn close to Ivan, maybe even worse since he felt virtually no remorse for what he was doing, Cecil and Rex (the ******* that was beating his wife and daughter) weren't exactly good samaritans either. A woman that's allowing her husband to physically and psychologically bruise her and her child over and over being put in a situation where she has to let go of what's ruining their lives or lose hers has far more substance than anything in most horror films, or films in general; just to name a single example.
As for the cops, they're trying to stop Jigsaw, which of course is their job...and of course, he doesn't feel his work should be stopped, naturally they were going to butt-heads. Jigsaw really has no choice but to test them if they're going to keep pursuing him, hence why the last two sequels were about him trying to help the police understand his way of "saving," people, and both of them ended with cops dying because they never got it.
Joh/Jigsaw is the centerpiece of the series, so naturally the stories will be told from his perspective, that doesn't mean that films are saying that everything that he thinks is right.
