Scott Pilgrim it's actually "out there" for something HBO would pick up let alone for a mini-series, The Pacific costed alot but then again Band of Brothers was a critically acclaim mini-series so that's why they had confident that The Pacific will do good and add more money for the budget.

also Band of Brothers has been syndicated constantly over the past 10 or so years, playing on history channels, discovery, and recently spike.

they'll do the same with the Pacific.

Oh that and Spielburg owns their souls.

Scott pilgrim would be too much of a risk. Spielberg has a massive track record and don't forget that Saving Private Ryan was almost a prototype for the band of brothers series (in a way)

The only way I could see that kind of thing happening is if it were an animated series, which would probably be just as awesome.

I would only be interested in an animated series if the live action cast do the voices :)

Adult Swim honestly would have been a good place for it, but with the **** they're doing right now with nothing but Fox reruns, meh.

Then the movie is even more ******ed. If anyone considers this a good movie let alone movie of the year then I would say expand your taste. this definitely is the worst movie I've seen all year.

And you should probably expand your vocabulary to avoid using words such as "******ed" to bash a movie.

Watched this tonight and while I thought it was a little crazy I loved it, Routh and Evans were superb in their roles, LOVED the Tom Jane cameo as well, some really funny moments and overall a lot of fun to watch, 8/10.

Yea.. I would just ignore that MarvelMan guy. Obviously he thinks his taste in movies is better than other peoples. If he listed the movies he liked I am sure I would find a movie I didn't like and stoop to his level and call him a ******. However, I will not go down that road lol.

Anyway this movie is not for everyone one. It's for people who like comics and video games. I am not a huge rock guy nor am I a hipster or emo and I still thoroughly enjoyed this movie and some of the songs. Mostly because of the direction from Edgar Wright, and the cast. Plus I love comics and video games.

If your not into that you will not get this movie. In my opinion this is one of the best movies this year. Along with inception, fighter, social network, Harry potter deathly hallows, kick-ass, toy story 3.

Plus other movies I enjoyed like iron man 2, the other guys, expendables. Even though I dont think they were the best movies of the year they are still enjoyable.

I liked the film. I really liked the style of the film and how it was made. I really entertained by some of the performances too. 8.5/10

I think that the style would have suffered greatly and the fight scenes would be stripped bare. I don't think it could work. It may have, but I very much doubt it. This film was costly, I doubt a HBO show would spill as much cash.

Plus every comic mini-series doesn't have to be an HBO an HBO miniseries. The film was pretty good. It just didn't reach as wide enough audiences as studios thought it could have. Plus every guy (the core group) was watching the Expendables.

Coming from the guy who couldn't figure out the tone of the film, when it's obvious in the first five or so minutes, maybe something else needs expanding here.

no, like I said this film is all over the place, they play the first five minutes or so as a real life film then by the end of this borefest we have wannabe lightsabers, people bursting into coins and the main hero dying then coming back to life to relive the last act all over again. thank god this is one of those movies that most normal folks will forget in 5 years and just like cera will be irrelevant. I guess you have to know words like epic, noob, other internet lingo and have a weird personality to get into movies like these because face it at the end of the day I will file this movie under overhyped category with snakes on a plane. pure garbage hyped up on the internet only to fall on deaf ears of the general movie going audience. Also maybe it was the crappy wooden acting on michael cera part that made me hate the film more.

if the shoe fits. Why cant someone come here and say a movie sucks without getting bashed? Its not like any of you made the movie with your own money, so why would you be offended? I say the movie sucks and was pretty obvious why it was one of the biggest bombs of the year. Atleast hype wise.

I can't be the only one who didn't like the comic series/movie.

I didn't like the movie to be honest, the story was pretty pointless but I liked the action and the effects. Its a 5/10

What movie were you watching? You could tell what kind of film it was going to be in the first minute. Hell, you could've probably been able to figure out what kind of film it was before it started with the 8 bit Universal opening.

I didn't think the film was pointless. I liked the themes of loss and baggage. It's never easy to just get over a relationship and start over again. And if people lose themselves in love they often lose their self-respect.

Also people sometimes resort to fantasy in dealing with the mythos/baggage of the people your bf/gf has dated.

no I couldnt, sorry I didnt play the game or do any research on the film, Im judging the film as a stand alone. like I said they played this movie as a real world then all of the sudden eveyone has super hero powers and the lesbian ex flies around like a death eater but yet wright said in the behind scenes feature that they wanted to treat it like a real world. Sorry it just didnt work for me, and I could tell what movie it was going to be in the first minute, a boring movie with some flashy cgi and michael cera doing the same schtick hes done since superbad.

It does? Where do you live where little comic book captions pop up to describe people or comic book style effects come out from instruments? You can hate the movie all you want, but honestly, if you couldn't figure out that was going to be a very offbeat, comedic film in the first five minutes, I assure you, the problem in that does not lie in the film.

you can still have that effect and still go through the movie as real life. remember that really old tv show called "batman", its ok if you dont but they had signs that said "bam", "poof", "pow" and still have a normal life look to it and didnt have people flying around and mystic powers and people exploding into coins to stick up other peoples pinball holes. like I said the tone was off because if its a straight up video game interpretation then thats fine but it was promoted as a sappy love story and a guy having to defeat a couple of *****es to get the girl. What I saw was a movie that didnt really go out of its way to involve me and was just not a very interesting story to begin with. I mean the main character was basically a pedophile picking up high school chicks. I think the son of the mask had a better engaging story then this nonsense. Also someone send michael cera a note to remind him he cant act.

I think your post is the one that is all over the place, honestly. ;) So yes, we got it: you hate this film; and that's ok, people have very different tastes. That said, it's clear that a lot of people liked/loved it since the film got great reviews all around from those who saw it. And not all of those people are gamers/comicbook fans; I've never played a videogame in my life and rarely buy comics, but I just loved how original, creative, inventive, funny and heartfelt this movie was. It's not just flash and FXs, there is also a very human story going on: Boy meets girl/Coming of age story. And all told in a very cinematic way. Cool stuff. :yay:

Are you really trying to say the old Adam West Batman is an example of being normal? Do you even read the stuff you type?

And this was a love story. Being a 'straight up video game interpretation' (whatever that means) has no bearing on that. If you can't figure even that much out, then yes, I can say for dead certain, the problem lies in you.
