So normal folks will like it, not just people like us?

My missus liked it and last time I peeked up her skirt she wasn't a fan boy. It's a Del Torro family action film. You got that guy up there, donkey boy or something, wondering why they resort to giant robots, well it's explained albeit briefly. But it's the wrong attitude for this type of film. Leave your disbelief at the door and just go in to watch some A+ family action. It's slick and fun and that's enough.

Was the "cancelling the apocalypse" line more rousing in the context of the movie?

Not really. I don't think it fell short, it just wasn't as overplayed as you would expect from such a line.

correct. funny thing is that the girl joins in the dancing in your gif but she seems not very enthusiastic about it. One week for me.

its saturday. i will get 180% hyped on wednesday.

Does there really need to be a reason to post a gif of Nina Dobrev?

This is how we all react until we actually see a movie in lieu of just pre-film info.

On that note, this is the type of woman I could see myself settling down with.

I can't stop agreeing with terry the last two days. :o

Honestly, this is a movie that geeks and nerds such as us (for the most part I think) are more likely to LOVE then a regular viewer.

I'm glad the Hypers who have seen the film dig it.

I've said numerous times that I'm fine with the premise. I rarely judge these types of films the way people that hate dumb fun films do.

The point had to be made that in our immediate real world there are other options. Amassing many many gallons of real world toxins that mess with the blood and the nervous system(see snake venom) of carbon based animals and even adding synthetic stuff to the brew would be alot more feasible then a functional Megazord imo. If they are bent on hardware then I say go smaller rather than bigger, if this is a world where they have the tech to make a megazord....
And lastly what seems like the most obvious option, attack the creatures form the inside, bomb detonations my do squat in the face of a hard scaly surface but it's a different story on the inside.

It's just a movie, funny how many times I've had to say that to the people that think sending oil drillers to blow up an comet is dumb. I do find it interesting to see which films fanboys choose to defend though.

I for one can't wait to see it, it's the only movie I have left to look forward to this season.

I dont like Kayne West at all either but if his tweets can help this movie in any way at all then I am totally for it.
West's tweets aren't going to help anything. Marketing, an appealing premise and luck is what put asses in seats. Tweets didn't help West album, which is a disappointing seller so far.

Good reviews from critics can't hurt but that's hardly a be all end all thing, I mean Star Trek Into Darkness isn't going to be the highest grossing movie of the summer.

It takes 3+ years to learn how to properly use drilling equipment less be great at it. Most countries train astronauts 1 year to learn how to float in space and fly a ship.

I think they made the right choice.
